Apollo is unimpressed with his opponent as she so plain compared to his stunning beauty
However she takes his breath away when she used her Konkani Kagura to cut at his strings and show vibrant determination yet innocence in her eyes so when he learns she entered Ragnarok to not only save humanity but also find a cure for her little sister to return back into a human, because even if humanity loses her sister will still be a demon and she’ll be all alone
Reader’s dedication to her little sister, strong willpower to keep fighting despite her critical injuries and her beauty in her dance, Apollo becomes smitten and declares Reader his wife
So when Reader awakens she’s startled by Apollo becoming so clingy towards her and freaks out when he calls her his beloved wife (when he tried to kiss Reader, she panicked and head-butted Apollo then ran away with her sister)
Apollo is now stalking reader and pops out with every chance he can get to offer her many luxuries and trying to hug and kiss her, only she keeps running away from him (not before giving him a headbutt and scream ‘I’m so sorry’ before she runs)
You cannot tell me Apollo isn’t a bit of the delusional type, as afterwards he just refers to Reader as ‘Wife’ or ‘Beloved’ once he made up his mind that she’s his wife 😂
-If you were nervous, you weren’t letting it show as you clutched your sword tightly in your hand, inhaling deeply before exhaling slowly as the doors opened into the arena as Heimdall introduced you.
-Many jeered, seeing a female warrior there, and one who didn’t look like they were very strong, many of them jeering at Brunnhilde, thinking she must have lost her mind, but she kept her stern gaze and arms folded, knowing that you could do this.
-Your opponent was Apollo, a sun god and you did feel a little nervous as you approached, but your unwavering gaze was what first caught Apollo’s attention, at least in a non-derogatory way- as he had been annoyed, seeing that you looked so weak and boring- you were so plain! His beauty and talents were wasted on someone like you!
-However, seeing you so focused, so determined, it made him curious, “Why are you fighting in this tournament?” you were surprised by his question, and you answered honestly, being so polite, “I’m fighting for my sister Nezuko. I want to find a cure for her. I’m also fighting for humanity, because if humanity is erased, she will remain since she is a demon- and I refuse to leave her all alone.”
-You were an unusual human, fighting for such a selfless reason as humanity rallied behind you, cheering loudly for you, which did help you strengthen your nerves.
-Despite looking so boring and weak, you quickly proved this wasn’t the case as Apollo attacked first and you charged in with your sword, clenching your teeth as steam seemed to escape you as you gripped the hilt tightly, charging in with a powerful Konkani Kagura, easily slicing through his strings.
-You were so… so different- so determined and hardworking, but also polite and caring, as you were fighting for your sister- as you rushed in with another attack, flames surrounding you, it was as if you burned away Apollo’s previous vision of you- revealing your true self to him and he couldn’t help but smile in amazement- you were perfect!
-Apollo gave you respect by not holding back on you, and you returned it, despite being heavily injured and gasping for air, you did not let your blade fall and you remained standing- refusing to give up.
-Apollo couldn’t help but melt, seeing how desperate you were, showing your determination for your sister and instantly he caught your wrist when you charged again, “Y/N you are now my wife!”
-The whole stadium froze, eyes going wide as everyone turned white in shock except for Apollo who was beaming brightly, looking so proud of himself.
-Your eyes were swirling as your face turned bright red and you surprised everyone by panicking and headbutting him hard, sending your forehead into his face with a sickening crunch and he crumbled like a house of cards, losing conscious and as you fell the same thing happened, ending in a draw.
-You woke up in the infirmary several hours later after several surgeries to heal your wounds, you felt a bit dazed and confused as to what had happened before two faces popped up before you, Nezuko who was crying, happy to see you awake and Apollo who was completely healed, “My love you’re awake!”
-Question marks flew around your head, not fully remembering anything before a hand snatched Apollo by the back of his head and you saw Brunnhilde there before she tossed him out, “Y/N’s still recovering!”
-It took a while for you to be able to discharge from the clinic, as some of your wounds were severe, but you were elated to hear that humanity had earned their salvation, meaning that Nezuko wouldn’t be all alone!
-Now you had a new problem besides searching out a cure for Nezuko, your new shadow Apollo. He always seemed to be around, seeking you out, proclaiming his love for you and calling you his wife.
-Apollo had learned the hard way to not scare you, as your headbutts were quite dangerous and Brunnhilde was getting tired of seeing him at the clinic with a broken and bloody nose.
-He was always bringing gifts, different sweets, bouquets of flowers, jewelry and other finery, desperately courting you and he found your shyness endearing, seeing you rushing away, face bright red while hugging your sister, screaming out an apology after you headbutted him again.
-Apollo was determined, you had to give him that- he was tenacious and wasn’t giving up- he made the decision you were going to be his wife and there would be no escaping that!
-However, seeing you rejecting his fine gifts, or giving them to Nezuko or someone else, made him see what a selfless person you were, you were so kind and gentle to all you met, even if they weren’t kind to you in return.
-Apollo then had an epiphany, realizing exactly how to win over your heart and he got to work.
-You were a little on edge three days later, you hadn’t seen Apollo in a while and you were worried he was plotting something again, it wasn’t that you didn’t like him, he was just a bit too forward for you and that always took you off guard.
-A voice called out your name and you turned, seeing Apollo who looked a bit haggard, bags under his eyes as he beamed brightly, his hands on his hips.
-You were hesitant as he approached, holding something, a bottle you realized as he got closer and he held it out to you and Nezuko, “I’m sorry it took so long my love, here’s the cure for your sister!”
-His words echoed around you; your eyes wide as you almost didn’t believe what he had just said. Your knees gave way and Apollo lunged, barely catching you as tear quickly welled in your eyes, “What… what did you say?”
-He smiled warmly, putting the bottle in your hands, his hands over yours, “It’s Nezuko’s cure. I had to confer with Uncle Hades on a few things, but this will turn Nezuko back into a normal human.”
-The tears welling in your eyes quickly spilled over as you openly sobbed, overwhelmed with joy which made Apollo smile sadly- he didn’t like seeing you in tears, but he froze as you lunged into his arms, hugging him tightly as you whispered out a mantra of thanks for him, clutching him tightly.
-He held you gently, you were such a kind and hardworking person, this is all you wanted, a way to help your sister. You were truly a wonderful person as he stroked your hair gently.
-He would wait until you calmed down and helped Nezuko before asking you about your wedding again- he was patient for you.
