I have decided that the Eirit and Tanli duo is now dubbed "The Blaster Sisters".
Headcanon that both Eirit and Tanli do their respective jobs (IA and Smugg) to support their aging/ailing parents, who both live somewhere in the Republic.
That’s why Eir gets so defensive when Keeper asks why she joined II, and mentions her dossier. It doesn’t really say anything about her parents, though, because she sends monthly payments back to her sister, who’s technically on neither side.
They’re both incredibly good with blasters – their father used to be a pirate and taught them when they were young.
Haven’t decided yet whether they’re twins, or if Eir’s a bit older than Tanli. In any case, it was Eir who first tried to find a well-paying job and figured her skills could be useful for Intelligence. The whole family’s not exactly the patriotic sort, and Eir figured II would pay better than anything the Republic could offer. She tried to get Tanli to join, because they work together pretty well, but Tanli has even more of a rebellious streak than her sister does, and ended up running smuggling routes for both sides instead.
Also headcanon that Eir managed to talk her way into being able to cut her hair however she wanted and use make-up even against the II dress-code, because “But Keeeeeeper, didn’t you say I’d be a field agent? If I’m too well dressed and everything, people might /suspect/ me!”
