#tapestry wool

I bought this vintage Royal Paris Collection D’Art tapestry canvas a year ago & just recently spent the $$$ for the wool. I enjoy doing tapestry using DMC wool since wool tends to hold colour vibrancy really well which is what I want in a tapestry. Just this flower and the surrounding leaves represents about 3 weeks of work.

Completed vintage bunny tapestry.

I’m so chuffed with how this turned out & I have to say that I’m definitely going to be steaming every tapestry I completed from now on! Steaming really helped to even out the stitches and fluff out those stitches that got a little twisted during the make.

My wool threads came in & I’ve started on the bunny tapestry - the photos represent a weeks worth of work, doing a little before/after dinner daily. This is a vintage tapestry by french company D’Art which I scored partially completed on ebay. I ripped all the old, musty threads off to start fresh with new wool.
