I was going through my old ask, and I found something interesting.

A silly idea popped in my mind \:3

What if we bread the cats to have a LOT of tarnishing. I know it's undesirable and stuff, but seeing how far we can push it sounds much more interesting. Also, for some reason, I like to say "rusting" instead of tarnishing... not the first time I made my own term X3

You'd get a cat that looks like it's somewhere between a regular black tabby and a regular silver tabby.

How does silver with low ruffesing look like compared to a cat with high ruffesing.

I don't think it's proved to be the same thing, but possibly related: remaining "background pheomelanin", yellowish or brownish shades instead crisp white is often called tarnishing in silvers.

I think for example this bengal has prominent tarnishing around the muzzle and possibly on the legs.

Tarnishing is generally considered very undesirable, and breeders try to select against it.
