You are looking for love, well, that is what you think at least. You do not crave love in and of itself, you crave recognition and attention. You want to be appreciated, to be liked and to feel worthy of life. There are moments in which you feel incredibly alone, as if there is no one you can lean on and this entire life has to be worked on all on your own. You’ve convinced yourself that no one is there to support you, that no one will support you, and that this is simply how life is. In your mind, love, or a lover so to speak, is the one who can make you feel less alone. The only one who can fill in the emptiness that you so often feel, the only way of truly getting authentic and real support. But this is completely false. Partners aren’t meant to be there only so you can get through life, partners are there for you to have a nice add-on to your already existing life. You’re looking for a love that can be found in everyone of your social circle, that can be found in the most random person on the street. You need attention and love, but not in a romantic sense, in friendship. And most of you, no, all of you, have this. You have this support and this love right there available to you, for some reason you just believe that it is not available to you, that others ‘don’t want to help you in such ways’. But they do, you’ve just never opened up enough to establish such a relationship.

You are completely consumed by the idea of the perfect outcome like it’s this shiny, flawless thing that you have to win before you are allowed to stop working forever. You spend hours and hours tiredlessly tweaking that single presentation slide or rewriting that specific paragraph, checking every word like it’s the most crucial test you’ll ever take, all to figure out how to make it completely perfect and flawless. You continue on for that one perfect draft, that one perfect product launch, that one perfect response, anything you can think of because only then will it finally be good enough to show anyone. You think perfection is like this constant, massive barrier of absolute quality that should never ever be lowered even a little bit. And because you’re waiting for the perfect moment to actually finish the thing, you spend all your time procrastinating and researching the best way to start it over again, which is something impossible to keep up. You believe that if you just follow the right steps you’ll unlock this perfect result and then no one will ever criticise you again. But the thing is, your whole life is being lived right now while you're agonising over a tiny detail that absolutely no one else will ever notice. And because you’re so focused on the future of this amazing result you totally miss the simple, small and good feeling of actually creating something, of just moving forward. You’re too busy reading the manual that you forget to play the game, whilst the game can actually be really fun when you’re not constantly trying to break the high score on the first try.

You are totally obsessed with the idea of utter and complete happiness as if it’s some kind of golden treasure you have to find somewhere. Some of you read books, follow certain influencer gurus, watch those vague videos, all to figure out how to be completely happy without ever having something that holds you back and makes you sad or stressed. You wait for that one moment; that one promotion, that one house, that one holiday, because only then, when that particular thing happens, you will finally be happy. You think happiness is like this constant massive wave of pure joy that should never ever stop. And because you’re waiting for the wave to hit you, you spend all your time scrolling and researching the 'best' way to get it not genuinely enjoying and loving the current moment of life. You believe that if you just follow the right steps you’ll unlock this perfect peace and then all your problems will just disappear, but that is false. That’s not possible and if you think it happens to other people that’s just a plain wrong perception of life, they fake it in hopes of making it. Because you’re so focused on this future, amazing feeling of total happiness, you completelt miss the simple, small and good feelings you have right now. You’re so busy looking for this one unachievable thing that you don’t notice it the times you do have it.
