Don’t let yourself become your own worst enemy — where, after a while, your goals seem to give you more grief than accomplishment, so you submit to what you always have, defeat, and go on as you always have...defeated.

Goals, dreams, and aspirations are supposed to be enjoyed. That’s the rich stuff in life. That’s the stuff we gotta take our time with and really savor every moment. If you’re letting even something positive about your life overwhelm you, that’s saying something.

I realized I was in a bad place when not only the negative but also the positive aspects of my life became overwhelming. When you can’t enjoy the good, that’s a clear message to self that something needs work. Something about you or about your life needs tending to, nurtured, maybe healed. Don’t ignore the signs of you. Life gets too busy and mundane, and sometimes, we end up neglecting the most precious thing, ourselves.

a vicarious appreciation of fair treatment from a teacher.

I believe in my ability to be fair, kind, and redirect from a tangent.
