The Taurid meteor shower is happening in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres at this time. Sightings with the naked eye require patience -- and comfort. Where I live, we bundle up and recline in the backyard, where there is less ambient light. Sometimes the weather is too cold or cloudy. Sometimes a sighting happens by accident.

Plan a family viewing or be an audience of one. Wear appropriate clothing and provide soft items on which to recline, plus maybe binoculars and a telescope. Prepare your shooting star wishes. Settling in for one of the most amazing sights ever.
