anyway, wip update. starting to write up scenes for CUCKOO. in other news, progress on GRAVEYARD has been slow.
guys I swear i'm actually writing!!! (some varying scenes from GRAVEYARD + CHIROPTERA that I like, not really in order)
Love putting Damian through the absolute wringer in GRAVEYARD. Like, the fandom knows (at the very least) the gist of Damian's introduction in Batman. That's been covered. But the entirety of Resurrection of Ras al Ghul? Oh boy. Can't wait to subject people to Damian's POV of attempted body snatching, a (surprisingly) brutal fight with Tim, and the kinda callous dismissal that Dick regards him with. The boy has no allies other than his mom, and thats so much sadder in my AU because he & Talia have only known each other for 3 months. Then add to that my AU additions that occur prior to the event - one of Damian's only friends getting killed, suffering through hard missions where he nearly dies, getting guilt-tripped by Dusan, the general experience of turning 10 years old...
side note: like, RoRAG ends with Bruce & co flying off into the sunset, and we get zero closure on Damian/Talia's escape outta the situation. Definitely not the intended reading by the writer, but I can't believe no one else thought about what Damian would think of getting essentially abandoned by his dad again. He's met the guy twice, and both meetings ended with Bruce leaving and Damian getting left behind in one way or another.

tired: Damian having trauma hallucinations on Scarecrow gas (read many scenarios around this, sometimes they tend to blend together, good scenario for angst and fluff, but still too repetitive for me)
wired: Damian having a hysterical breakdown on old Joker Venom (new, different, terrifying imagining the laughter, gets the heart of his issues in the au by literally forcing emotion from his mouth, the "joke" that he thinks his life has become, point of connection for Jack Ryder, allows for terrifying vulnerability in the sense that Damisn is actively dying for a moment, prelude of things to come)

Yup!! Pretty sure I’ve answered a similar ask before, but eventually they will all interact in the same room. Just don’t get your hopes up for that happening anytime soon since CHIROPTERA/CUCKOO/ARACHNE are all very Damian/Gotham-centric…I have plans for JSA and Tom one-shots I swear!! How could I not after the whole Blackest Night debacle with Grant 😬
working on graveyard...having fun envisioning the League as an actual community (despite Damian's trauma I feel far more partial to a League that loves him than one that hates him)
