Look, as much as I want all these dummies to hug it out, the first interaction between rehabilitated-Crosshair and Echo is everything I could have wanted.
Cross and his defensive sarcasm being met with Echo snarking back and then that little smirk?
This just reaffirms my belief that, between Anaxes and Kaller, Cross and Echo got along like a house on fire. I'm still pissed that Echo got kinda sidelined for the rest of the ep as per usual but that bit of character interaction says so much to me.
I think it would have been cool to have actually gone with Hunter's idea; having just Cross, Hunter and Echo go and have the ep be Echo bridging between the two. We get a little of Team Mom mediating but I just feel like they had a perfect way to fix some of the 'what do we do with Echo' issue but just...didn't do it? Like I'm thrilled to have all five of them together for an adventure but why is Echo so hard for the writers to just...write?
I love the fact that Echo went from telling Omega “You’ve done enough for today,” in Season 1 to “You ready?” For the finale. He witnessed her going from fragile little kid to capable soldier in 3.5 seconds. That’s progress right there. While Hunter wanted to bubble wrap her, Echo was like, “Hey, cool bow. Let’s shoot it.” 😄
Rampart out of context.
