i promise i haven't forgotten about everyone i've just been distracted by lego ninjas and schoolwork

Spirits befriended Riptide long before learning the Song of Birds on his adventure. She's surprisingly intelligent for a bird, and picked up some of the basics with train control and operations.

Riptide's main "weapon" so to speak is her beak. Being pecked or bitten isn't fun for others.

Something about Riptide has always been... off. It wasn't a ghost or anything haunting or possessing the bird, but still something almost human about her. She knew what people were saying and had her own answers, she could follow directions, and Spirits swore she was trying to sing sometimes. But then she would try to steal his food, or fly off for no reason, or caw in his ear when he was trying to focus.

Maybe that was human, too.

[designer's notes: i still don't know how birds work btw. like yeah i've looked up reference and i watched a whole lot of them but they're still Weird. i did see a pinkish seagull at a waterpark so maybe that'll be incorporated somehow. no i don't know how the flower stays in place.]
