Tour de Sock stage 2 continues - You know your game of yarn chicken is getting intense when you’ve resorted to hoping you accidentally took your yarn’s pre-project weight with the label on because that gives you another 1.2 grams to work with…I am so going to lose

I’ve already ordered more navy, but there’s no chance it will show before the end of the stage deadline. Still I knit on. Glaring at the shrinking skein the whole way.

Another stage complete on time! I probably could have knit these a little smaller, but I like them as they are for comfy cozy socks. These will be excellent come winter. And I love how the highlighter color shows off with the grey!

Tour de Sock Update -

I lost the game of yarn chicken on the stage two (bird) socks by about 3 grams, like I feared I would. Extra yarn arrived - after the end of the stage unfortunately- but they are now finished and I love them.

While I was waiting for that yarn I went ahead and fixed the tops of the stage one (shark) socks. I didn’t like how the cuff fins looked, so I ripped back and replaced with 1x1 rib. Much happier now.

Stage three has kind of … stalled. I do like the pattern - it’s a mix of lace and cables - but they take a bit more attention than I’ve had to give them. I’m just now starting the heel of sock one, and the stage ends tomorrow. I’ll take a WIP photo of them before stage four starts, but they’ll be waiting until the end of the tour for finishing. Luckily I have spare needles!
