Other than Malleus, who is Twisted from Maleficent, which Disney character, if they had a Twisted Wonderland counterpart, could you see being the other four of the top five mages? I assume Malleus' Grandmother could be one of them, but if not, do you have any thoughts?
I’m not a huge Disney fan, so I’m not familiar with their entire catalogue of works. I haven’t even seen all of their “classics” 💦 so I may not be the best person to ask this. (Heck, I don’t even understand what’s so impressive about Maleficent or why she’s branded as “the Mistress of Evil” because I feel like the kinds of evil things she does pale in comparison to tons of other Disney villains.)
One character I keep hearing over and over again (specially in the context of The Secret Big Bad/Final Boss) in the fandom is Chernabog. I also hear about a Yen Sid guy occasionally. Now, I have zero concept for who they are, but I figure they must be quite menacing and/or powerful with how often they are spoken about.
I also think of the gods from Moana or even Zeus of Greek mythos, who locked away the Titans with his legendary Thunderbolts, but I don’t know of these would count since the Age of the Gods was a long time ago. Modern twisted versions of Te Fiti/Te Kā, Maui, and Zeus therefore wouldn’t be gods themselves, but just powerful mages with specialties in similar domains as their godly counterparts. Maybe they’d be capable of performing the same feats as their Disney originals too.
If I think of general powerful magic users from the Disney canon, the Genie (especially when freed) comes to mind. He seems like he’d be a ton of fun as a Twst character.
I’d imagine that the other top 5 mages are elderly folks… Because with age comes wisdom and mastery over their craft, and not everyone is born with the same natural gifts as the Draconias.
it's doodle hour :)
BLAZING DETERMINATION!!
Meet the first of my Scarabia Boys.
Blaze Vasa 🌋 (Twisted from Te Kā from Moana.)
Blaze is a stern and stubborn First Year with a fiery temper that can rival that of Riddle's.
His Unique Magic: [Molten Core]
Kishan Kingsley 🐅 (Twisted from Shere Khan from the Jungle Book)
Kishan is a cunning and meticulous 3rd year with a disdain for Kalim. He will stop at nothing to become Housewarden.
His Unique Magic: [Red Flower]
Fun Fact:
One of the reasons I made Mahina such a physical powerhouse (besides being based off of my preexisting powerhouse) is because of who’s she Twisted from; Te Kā
Te Kā was an interesting villain because of the fact that…she wasn’t defeated, because a Demi God and a mortal woman can’t defeat the creator of life or its destructor, she was calmed and her heart was given back to her willingly.
That’s what Mahina is to me, someone who’s practically a mountain’s worth of difficulty to bring down and hits like a tidal wave, but still very emotional to her core.
So it’s because of who she is that Mahina continues to push forward, continues to break through any objections and obstacles in her path, and crushes anyone who doesn’t agree with her way of doing things…because she must.
It's a great way to tie back to the literal cataclysm that is the villain she's twisted from. And Mahi being so unyielding also lines up with how Te Ka doesn't scheme or mug or even have a single line while she's on screen. She doesn't need dialogue to to get across just how much of a threat she is, and also her whole deal is she's lost her identity in her rage. Whatever words she might have to say are just lost in the fury.
And I like how in a way, this is represented with Mahina in how she bottles things up and struggles to express herself because, for one thing it's way outside of her wheelhouse, but also she's gotten so accustomed to presenting this image of anger and intimidation that I think she's genuinely forgotten how to turn that off. That, or she gets so flustered she just shuts down.
Also another interesting comparison to ol' Chernabog, who is also a gigantic speechless fiery force of nature with the added caveat that he's the manifestation of pure unfiltered evil. Those expressions really do just say it all
My animation by MOANA!! I invite all of you to watch it on my YouTube channel!!! ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I finished it about 2 months ago as a study assignment at my academy, but I've only gathered the strength to post it here now.
i just realised that i've been imagining the stormfather as Te Kā from moana except greyer and with water, clouds and lightening instead of lava
