nectar weed is unsurprisingly pretty sweet! slightly minty- it might be in the same family..?- but it actually gets pretty bitter, brewed fresh... it stays sweeter for longer after brewing if its dried out first! the pikmin seemed very interested in the dried leaves... it might be kind of like catnip to them...?

"D'ya think the reason we talk about Alternate Universes so much is because we fantasize about being happier there? ...No, I won't ring you up yet. Answer me first."
(more AUs to be added in the future... probably)
#Stalker!Jantonio AU (first explained here) - Probably the AU I talk about the most, where Tony never worked for the shadow government and is actually a part timer at the gas station. He spends too much time there, causing him to go crazy and start stalking his crush-turned-obsession (aka Jack).
#VS the World AU (explained here and a character ref sheet here) - Xavier and I mashed TFTGS with Scott Pilgrim VS the World and got this beautiful Jantonio-centered mess (with Tony as Scott Pilgrim and Jack as Ramona Flowers)
Feral!Jack AU - Xavier's verse where Jack disappears and "comes back wrong," which all stems from his fic "The Reappearance of Jack Townsend" (please please please please go check it out, I want more people to be unhinged about it with)
Jatinder Singh Durhailay & David Edren - Tea Notes (Ekster reissue of 2018 cassette)
Jatinder Singh Durhailay and David Edren released Tea Notes as a cassette back in April of 2018. London-based Jatinder Singh Durhailay is a painter and student of Indian Classical music. He has trained in both the sitar and the Hindi singing technique, Dhrupad. He also plays two traditional Sikh instruments; the bowed, stringed Dilruba and Taus. Poetic Pastel Press issued his solo debut, The Last Ballad Of Mardana, in 2017. David Edren`s expertise lies with machines and modular synthesis. His Kosmische and New Age-Inspired electronics have featured on numerous cassettes, and compilations, produced for imprints from the current Belgian underground, such as Jj Funhouse, Social Harmony, and Ultra Eczema. These recordings appearing, since the turn of the millennium, either under his own name, or the moniker DSR Lines.
Jatinder and David’s collaboration, Tea Notes, is a celebration, a meditation, on both the beverage, and the communal time shared imbibing. The coming together to partake in its ritual. Each of the six tracks represents a different infusion.
Yesterday was sort of bonkers so I made a new protection oil and, this morning, some comforting tea. I just put in what felt right, letting my intuition tell me what I needed.
½ tsp rose petals (self love)
½ tsp elderflower (protection and relief)
½ tsp nettle leaf (strength and nurturing)
½ tsp ginkgo leaves (clarity and wisdom)
½ tsp marshmallow leaf (feminine energy and protection)
½ tsp heather flower (good luck and self awareness)
¼ tsp peppermint leaf (cleansing and calming)
There are also medicinal benefits to all of these, but I wanted to focus on magical today.
as it turns out, the candypop buds the pikmin are so fond of also make pretty good ingredients for tea! The different colours seem to have different tastes and stuff, too... there's definitely a noticeable difference!
some of them are better for other things, rather than tea, but its worth trying at least!
the white ones just taste kind of... vaugely floral and sweet. I'd compare it to chamomile again, maybe? similar to the daisies... but they wilt so fast, they're kind of... more trouble than they're worth. And they kinda made my mouth go a little numb... it'd probably make a better local anaesthetic, than a tea...
the yellow ones are bitter, in a lemony sort of way! theres a very distinctive kind of bite to it, even though its sweet... I'd say its probably pretty nutritious too, but I'd need to have a proper little analysis to say for sure... id wager its high in vitamin C, definitely... ah, its very acidic though! it needs to be diluted down a fair bit, or its just too strong to handle...
the blue ones are interesting too! They don't actually taste like much, but the smell is very relaxing... I'd compare it to lavender, maybe..? it might make a mild sedative if i concentrated it down, but as a tea, it's just relaxing... it really doesn't taste like much at all, though. it needs something to go with it... it's tough, so it needs a long time to steep and soften as well...
ive definitely seen other colours around as well... I'll test them out as I come across them!
To nobody's surprise, I ate half a loaf of bread today and got pretty bloated by bedtime. I've just made a tea with mullein (good for almost everything), angelica root (good for gas and bloating), and peppermint (good for bloating and stomach aches). It was pleasant to drink, and felt good on my stomach. It seems to have helped some already, but I need to wait a bit longer to let it work. We'll see.
My final year of graduate school hasn’t started yet, but I made it a goal to read through and highlight my textbooks before classes start. It’s going well, and I’m over halfway done with them. I took a break to add to my herb wishlist (I am looking forward to trying rhodiola root, gotu kola, and guarana seed) and make some tea.
Today I am using: fall ginkgo leaves, green tea (sencha), holy basil (Rama), and ashwagandha root. Smells like wisdom.
If I may, what do you like to use for energy and concentration?
