Tour de France stage 3 BMC Racing, to no surprise, took the stage, with Team Sky not far behind. Defending Olympic road race champion Greg Van Avermaet will wear the well-earned yellow jersey for Stage 4, and potentially through the first rest day with a very favorable parcours forthcoming for the classics specialist.
Tour of Utah 2017 Stage 3
Canadian Rob Britton won Wednesday’s stage 3 time trial and took the overall race lead at the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah. Rally Cycling’s Britton won the 9km uphill time trial by 13 seconds ahead of Jelly Belly’s Serghei Tvetcov. Gavin Mannion (UnitedHealthcare) was a further nine seconds behind in third.
Mannion moved up to second overall behind Britton with Tvetcov third.
Tour of Utah 2017 Stage 2
Brent Bookwalter won the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah’s first mountaintop finish Tuesday. Rally’s Sepp Kuss took the overall lead after finishing second in stage 2 behind the BMC Racing all-rounder in Snowbasin. James Piccoli (Elevate-KHS) nearly stole the show with a late attack, but he ended the day third.
Kuss assumed the GC lead based on finish placings in the first two stages. He was 21st Monday, eight spots ahead of Bookwalter. They will start stage 3 on same time.
Does anyone have the full clip of this interaction in the TdF peloton today? (Stage 3 from Vervier to Longwy). It looked like such a total bromance moment, and I’d like to make some gifs of it, if I could. Also, could somebody kindly fill me in on the name of the BMC rider, if anybody knows who it is? (I’ve only seriously started following cycling in the past year, and I don’t quite have everyone memorized by sight yet, especially when they have their sunglasses on, so I apologize for this noobish question.)
