APOCALYPTIC SETTING. Abandoned cities, no natural resources, dytopian societies rasing and falling....
Rikkai are born around the time that the fifteenth significantly large city is formed (<50,000 people) and the city itself manages to last for a good ten years of subsistence farming and salvaging of old parts. When someone fucks up in the city, yukimura’s mother bundles all the kids up and out, gets them to leave before anything goes bad. The adults can’t really leave without being missed, so she leaves all the responsibility bundles up on the eldest kid’s shoulders, sanada’s elder brother, niou and yanagi’s elder sisters.
Despite that, Yukimura quickly takes charge, even though he’s definitely the shortest and one of the youngest in the group, and Yanagi’s sister sort of hates him for it, but he still beats her when they hand-wrestle, and that’s like the ultimate authority anyway. Sanada’s elder brother doesn’t want to be in charge anyway, so he never contests Yukimura.
Sanada siblings and Niou siblings do most of the hunting stuff and Marui/Jackal take turns with cooking. They usually get distracted really easily because there’s always so much to do, but before they sleep, they all get to eat, which is often better than the final days in the city
Sometimes they fight other groups for supplies, and even though the other groups often offer to share and everything, Yukimura only smiles sweetly, accepts and then backstabs them as quickly as possible. Sometimes marui’s little brothers and yukimura’s little sister cry when they see the bodies, but then they get over it, because it wastes energy they could be using for walking
They always sing creepy marching songs when they know they’re walking close to where other groups prowl and it usually scares people away, especially when Niou and Yagyuu coordinate a sort of soldier-like march among all of the kids, so they look a bit like a battalion
When hormones hit, it’s sort of crazy for them all, and they do a lot of breaking away from the group to ‘collect firewood’ and end up making out against all sorts of greenery. Yanagi still has scars on his back from splinters from that one time Akaya manhandled him.
They all train to fight in different ways, cobbling whatever shit they find while walking, together, in order to make something. Niou loves it when they come across old stuff left behind from the world before the dystopia, he loves tinkering with that shit, and akaya’s elder sister usually helps him too.
Marui’s little brothers are the youngest and they hate being babied, but it ends up happening anyway. On the other hand, Niou’s younger brother really wishes he was in their position, he doesn’t much like hunting or any of that shit, but has to do it because his elder brother and sister are ruthless.
Yanagi and his sister are the only ones who know how to read and he has this old battered fairytale book he loves to read to the younger kids. They lap it up, but Yukimura, Sanada and Niou refuse to listen to it when he does that, because they think it’s bullshit and gives everyone false hope.
They get offered to join cities every now and then, but then never accept. They prefer this wandering sort of travel anyway, they only really have bad memories of cities.
Imagine Blake and Yang walking into Juniors club and Yang says,
“Blang Blang into the room!!”
i bet jackal is the sort, in winter, to wear like four layers of socks and three different coats and everyone except yukimura, who is also freezing, give him the weirdest looks.
Day two of orientation: Today I learned how to play a bunch of fun games. One being octoball which is like a mixture of handball, dodge ball and volleyball ... some how. I also learned several group games to play that all were fun while getting people out of the comfort zone. Oh and btw the worst/best thing today was a forced socialization seminar. On one had I had to socialize with actual people >.<, but on the other hand a cute girl came and hugged me. I think I will be ok here.
Just one last side note apparently the wobble is a dance who knew, not me. And of course is it seems to me that everyone on campus knows it so ya.
