And it's day four of 2026's White Knight Week! The themes are "Coming Home" and "Coffee Dates." Check out the prompts for the week if you're interested in putting anything together, no need to feel constrained to the week itself!
I'm loving all the art and fics and memes people have been putting out. And, while I haven't had the time to put together much in the way of my own works for the event, that doesn't mean I'll leave you all hanging. So, I've put together this adorable little meme, Ren's Diner!
It even comes with accompanying music! Tom's Diner, by Suzanne Vega! Even has an Acapella version, which you may find appropriate. Great song by the way.
I've been sitting on adapting this song as a White Knight meme since September last year. Once I was listening to this song, I couldn't help but connect it to Weiss and Jaune. It's why I pushed so hard for coffee date to be one of the prompts for this year's White Knight Week.
Putting it all together took a decent amount of work, but I've got all the editing techniques down pretty well by now. So, it came together pretty quick and easy.
A nice little slice of life, a peek into their routine when the world isn't ending. Ren running a little tea and coffee shop, his own little diner. Nora coming to visit and being a little enthusiastic with her greeting, even dragging Ren off the screen during her kiss. Weiss trying to pass things off as if she wasn't interested in what's happening around her, reading the paper and enjoying a nice cup of coffee as she thinks of Jaune. And, once Weiss is done with her coffee, she grabs one to go for him.
If compression hasn't destroyed them, I did actually write little articles for the newspaper. Of course, 'Kooky Cookie At Large' by Lisa Lavender is an excerpt from my 'Pastry Pandemonium' fanfic, a cute little White Knight date night in Mantle. Here are the links, if you're interested. AO3 FFNet.

Ok, so things may have gone a little further than just beating him up. But trust me, he really had it coming to him. Honestly though, it was awesome. And my relationship with my girlfriend has never been better!

Good God Shipping Is Out Of the Question For Some RWBY People (A Rant)
So I was on reddit and got recommended the RWBY critics sub and I saw this cute little ship post about why they love Freezerburn. The user in the post did a great job explaining why they loved the ship and were super wholesome. Loved it.
And then I see this....
It's not even the bees for once, it's a small ship fans enjoy of Weiss and Yang. And it reminds me of something I've been noticing that I wanted to talk about it. Some people are just truly against ANY form of shipping within RWBY and by that I mean specifically TEAM RWBY SHIPS.
(None of this applies to Enabler that ship can rot lol)
Because I never see these kinds of complaints for Arkos, Renora or Blacksun. I never see them complain about how the JNPR ships ruin their dynamic or how Blacksun ruins Sun's development with his team. It's always the Team RWBY dating each other ships they hate.
Another post did a breakdown of things they would like to add and change to the bees to give them more time and moments together. The post wasn't half bad and had some cute ideas. And how many times have we heard "Well if Bumbleby was written better and planned earlier I would like it"? So hey, someone went out of there way to do that. So surely people will be happy someone since that's exactly what the user did.
But the most upvoted comments was this....
First, this feels very backhanded. The post the person put up genuinely felt like there was effort to it. And this user just did this meme instead. Second, they have Blacksun in their flair so they're not exactly being unbiased. The user who made the post still included Sun in the rewrite as another close friend of Blake. So it's not like they made it out where the two were terrible to each other or Sun wasn't part of Blake's story. Third, the Owl House literally got shafted by Disney so more moments we could have had with Gus and Willow and Luz had to make room for Lumity and the story. Fourth, just because Team RWBY have two members who are dating doesn't mean it's going to be bad. Look at teams and how many of them were teams but still had romance involved.
And this doesn't even include the other ships/couples of some of these shows either.
Even though the person who made the post literally added more Bumbleby moments and we keep hearing 'It came out of nowhere' over and over again. Now someone wrote in Bumbleby to have more less than subtle moments and suddenly 'I still don't like it'. It's like there's no winning with people who are against shipping in Team RWBY. It's not always about execution with these people, it's just not wanting them to happen.

You won't ever be satisfied with shipping in RWBY. I noticed it when Dust Queen came out. So many people were upset WhiteRose and Bumbleby were part of the AU.
How do you get traumatized by a fictional ship?
Also in case you're wondering why the one comment is yellow it's cause they donated money. And they yet their comment didn't get a single like lol.
Again there's truly no pleasing people who are so Anti Team RWBY shipping. Doesn't matter if it's a smaller ship, doesn't matter if you redo Bumbleby to have it more in the beginning and it doesn't matter if it's in fan content. None of the RWBY girls are allowed to be together romantically. And no where is that more proven than in this comment thread on Dust Queen.
So yeah, doesn't matter how the ships can be written, they just straight up don't want it. Shipping has been part of RWBY since VOLUME 1 when the four leads were talking about it behind the scenes. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's just going to disappear. Even the side content of RWBY heavily hinted at Team RWBY ships.
And this doesn't include other side content like the crossover movies, Ice Queendom, the comics, the games etc. Crossing your arms and frowning while saying how much you don't like shipping isn't going to stop it from happening. Honestly after all these years you'd think they'd be used to it by now.
So I just wanted to get this off my chest since this is something I keep seeing. No matter what ship, no matter if it's written differently and even if it's just fan made content people will complain about Team RWBY being shipped. Sometimes it's not always about 'execution' like some of these people say. Some of them are just against any kind of Team RWBY shipping. They're plenty of girl groups of just friends who aren't together romantically like Winx Club, Totally Spies, Bratz, KPOP Demon Hunters, Sailor Moon Inner Senshi, Powerpuff Girls, Monster High Girls, Golden Girls, Jem, The Cheetah Girls and the dozens of magical girl groups.
So ship what you want. Whether popular or not.
