if your teams were to participate in the vytal festival, who would each team send to the doubles and then the singles if they made it that far? u don't have to do all your teams but im at least curious about vcta lol
I’ll just talk about the teams that were involved in the festival in canon (VCTA, LASL, OSRS and ELFN):
Team VCTA wins their 4-Man Match and advance to the Second-Phase. Viola and Aias are picked for the Doubles-Round because they make a good Bruiser+Offensive-Support pair, and are put up against Team OSRS’ pair (which also won their first round): Lucca, Viola’s twin brother, and Rosso. VCTA wins again and is supposed to advance, but Vi disappears before the Singles-Round (due plot-reasons) and Aias, who was supposed to fight, forfeits to go help searching for him.
If OSRS had won the Doubles-Round, Lucca would advance. Rosso is the better fighter but Lucca likes showing off to an audience, so Rosso would concede.
Team LASL is very dysfunctional until after the Fall of Beacon, so they lose their Teams-Round, which is the match that triggers their splitting up after the tragedy. But IF they had won, Mundo and Donna would go on because they are the only ones who can work together in the entire team. Donna would advance to the Singles because Mundo’s Semblance takes a long while to charge and Donna is a better well-rounded fighter.
Team ELFN did not participate in the tournament because in a mission right before the event, Edward broke his arm. He wanted to fight despite his injury, but his team agreed to skip the tournament that year, since it was their last year and they wanted to enjoy it. Had they made it to the Doubles and Singles, the pair would be Lawrence and Fleur, with Fleur going to the Final Round.

Leonard “Nico” Nicotiana – Codename: Thyme
Background:
Leonard Nicotiana, or just “Nico”, is but one of the many employees that live at the Elvenknight’s expansive mansion. His mother is one of the maids who doubled as Edward Elvenknight’s, the Clan’s leader son, babysitter.
Being a few years older, Nico helped taking care of Edward in his earlier years and developed a certain affection for the boy, remaining by his side from childhood until his late teens, when it was time for Edward to leave for Beacon Academy.
It was a date he had dreaded from the moment he first learned about it. Since then, Nico begun to accompany Edward in his combat classes, hoping to become strong enough to accompany his friend to the Huntsmen Academy.
Unfortunately, he was just the errand boy for a rich family, not a member of it. And while he and his mother hand enough to get by, he could not afford a decent weapon. Even the equipment he trained with was practice oriented and did not serve to fend of actual Grimm.
As a last resort, he swallowed his pride and approached his employer, Edward’s father, to attempt and get a few payments in advance. The man had known Nico all his life and could not imagine why he’d need so much money in such a short time.
An explanation was the only demand Edward’s father had before considering the proposition, so reluctantly, Nico revealed his intentions.
Mr.Elvenknight was impressed with Nico’s courage and dedication towards his Son. So much that he took Nico to the Weaponsmith himself to find something suitable for the boy. Now provided with equipment far beyond his own budget, Nico was ready to take Beacon Academy’s entrance exam.
Doing well enough for someone with that little training (added to a secret recommendation from an important Huntsman and former student), Nico managed to squeeze through Beacon Academy’s gates.
The first few months were tough, as he had much to catch up to, but he was by Edward’s side and that was all that mattered. Together as Team ELFN(“Elfin”), they pushed through their school years and things became a little bit easier with every semester. Those had been the best years of Nico’s life, but they came to a sudden end when Beacon was overrun by Grimm during that year’s Vytal Festival.
Yet to graduate, Nico followed Edward’s plan without hesitation and, followed by the rest of their team, they became an official Huntsman group, dubbed the “Elfin Knights”.
Weapon: “Gratitude” –BPDB(Barrier Projecting Dust Bulwark)
Gratitude is a shield large enough to cover Nico’s entire body. Attatchments to its top and sides are part of a barrier-projecting mechanism that expands outwards, creating a tangible wall of energy. That wall can be infused with Dust, adding elemental properties to its surface(Fire burns projectiles and attackers, Water freezes and slows down nearby enemies, Electricity shocks and stuns attackers, and Air allows Nico to move faster while moving the shield).
Semblance: “Lionheart”
Lionheart is a passive Semblance that affects Nico’s Aura. When Nico’s Current Aura reaches a value below 50%, its composition changes, becoming denser and more resistant. The lower is Nico’s Current Aura, denser it becomes, granting it damage reduction properties.
In rough numbers, Lionheart’s Damage Reduction is calculated in the following formula: If [Current Aura%]<50, Damage Reduction% = 20 + (50-Current Aura%). For example, if Nico’s Aura is currently at 32%, Lionheart’s Damage Reduction will be 38%.
Class: “Sentinel”
In the battlefield, Nico is a defensive supportive unit, using His large (and expandable) shield to cover allies and safely approach his enemies. His defensive capabilities are further enhanced by his Semblance, which makes him even more resilient after taking damage.
All these defensive resources come at the cost of offense and mobility. Due to his weapon’s size and weight, Nico is noticeably slow, and becomes even more sluggish when his shield is expanded. He can use his shield to bash and knock away enemies, but these moves take time and leave him open for attacks. His best offensive strategy is to wait for enemy aggression and activate his weapon’s Dust to damage those who attack.

Fleur Deromarin – Codename: Rosemary
Background:
While Huntsmen are in charge of fighting the Creatures of Grimm, the Grimm are not the only threat to life in Remnant. Sometimes humans and faunus prey on each other, for the sake of survival or just personal gain, and for those instances Bodyguards exist.
The Deromarin have been on the business for generations and are known for charging great sums for their services(guaranteeing results worth the price, of course). Fleur is one of the youngest members of Deromarin in this generation, and was hired, despite his inexperience, for a very peculiar job. By the Elvenknights nonetheless.
Fleur’s job was to join Beacon Academy as a student and tail Edward Elvenknight, join his team and make sure the boy didn’t ruin his family’s reputation. All of that while posing as a normal student. The first part was simple enough, but Fleur had been trained as a fighter, not a babysitter. Specially with his other two teammates enabling Edward’s erratic behavior.
He managed to do his keep his cover for a very long time, but after a slip, the truth surfaced. Fleur expected resentment, but quite unsurprisingly actually, Edwards didn’t mind seem to mind at all. That was just the type of person Edward was, as Fleur came to learn.
Quitting his “job”, Fleur carried on with Edward and Team ELFN, no longer as their leader’s bodyguard, but as his friend.
Finishing their training together, Fleur, now more relaxed without the weight of his duty on his back, could actually enjoy being a normal student. A bit too late, sadly. At the end of Team ELFN’s last year at Beacon Academy, a Grimm Invasion interrupted the institution’s activities indefinitely. Not wanting to remain inactive until the formal conclusion of their studies, Team ELFN, now “The Elfin Knights” begun to roam the world as professional huntsmen.
Weapon: “Responsibility” – EIGS (Elemental Infusion Great Sword)
Made of a special mineral and Dust blend, “Responsibility” combines both Physical and Elemental damage in its attacks. Its composition makes the blade reasonably light for its size and durability, and that added to the Gravity Dust Crystal in its core, Fleur can alleviate its weight even further. The Dust crystals placed along its blade (and pommel) can also be channeled to cover it in Fire, Electricity, Water and Air.
Semblance: “Reminisce”
In its first activation, Reminisce causes Fleur to leave behind a “Memory”, a ghostly image of himself that remains still at the same position as he was when activated. On reactivation, Fleur will be teleported back to his Memory’s location.
All that changes during teleportation is Fleur’s position. Any damage sustained between the creation and Reminiscence of a memory is maintained. Memory’s cost a small amount of Aura per second to sustain but will linger as long as Fleur can afford. Memories disappear if Fleur is Knocked Out, has no Aura, or move too far away from it. Fleur can place multiple memories, but can only return to them in the order they were made, making his repositioning predictable.
Class: “Dark Knight”
Fleur is a highly mobile short-range fighter, using his large sword to deal large amounts of damage and being considerably resilient. Using the various types of Dust in his sword, Fleur can reduce his weapon’s weight(Gravity), propel himself forward(Wind) and deliver an elementally enhanced attack(Fire, Water or Electricity) before using his semblance to reposition to safety.
Despite his frame, Fleur is in fact a very durable fighter, but his reliance on Dust for combat effectiveness drains his Aura Pool, forcing him to chose between moderating his attacks or going all out.
