Nike Penny “Sharpie Pack” Release Date | Foam + Penny 6

In 2014, Nike Sportswear released the Shooting Stars pack, consisting of a coveted, even classic, yet never-released Air Foamposite One packaged with Penny Hardaway’s shoe of the moment, the Lil Penny Posite. In 2015, there will be a follow-up.

That follow-up is the Nike Penny Sharpie Pack, an endlessly intriguing celebration of past and present. Replacing the all-white “Shooting Stars” Foam One, the Nike Air Foamposite OneSharpie headlines this year’s two-pack, another blast from the unreleased past that adds black ridges to the classic Dark Neon Royal colorway. When the Foamposite One first debuted, Penny Hardaway was forbidden from wearing the OG “Royal” colorway by the NBA. They ruled that it lacked a sufficient amount of black to match up to his Orlando Magic uniform, so he simply added the requisite black with a Sharpie, and footwear lore was born.
