I had a thought! And I want to sketch it eventually, but can't do it justice yet, but I need to get it out my head. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated on this one!

So, Patch refuses to tell Jasper about their shared past, and Jasper's inevitable fate of becoming a Darkrai and causing the paralyzed future. But! Patch realises he could tell Buia. Sure, it would make her hate him, but she has the best chance of helping Jasper before it's too late. The resulting conversation goes something like this:

Patch hung his head, he couldn't meet her gaze. "Buia, it was all my fault. I sabotaged Temporal Tower. I caused the planet's paralysis."

Buia's smile fell. She backed away, until she was pressed against the wall and couldn't go any further. So many thoughts raced through her mind, but chief amongst them was how sad Patch looked. Eventually, she smiled, took his hand, and whispered, "so, it was you? You sent me my partner. My best friend. Thank you, Patch."

Presenting... Exploration Team Typhoon in the Patchwork au!

The Patchwork au follows the theory that Hero is Darkrai, but after the events at Temporal Tower, Darkrai returned to the past and tries to prevent Hero from turning out the same way. Sure, Darkrai could just tell Hero the truth and things might turn out okay, but that's an uncomfortable conversation, much easier through deceit and manipulation.

Of course, Grovyle and Celebi will be making an appearance. As for Dusknoir, well, Dads really do be leaving sometimes. Nah, he'll make an appearance when it's most inconvenient for Darkrai & Hero's emotional states. Anyways, I'm gonna try making some comics for this au and writing a fic for it, we'll see how that goes because this is kinda outside my wheelhouse. I'll also post some Darkrai, Dusknoir, Grovyle & Celebi stuff (eventually). For now, some notes on H&P!

Jasper

A rather plain fellow, he's moody, apathetic, sarcastic, and prone to yelling.

Gets in trouble for asking Guild apprentices to answer ethical dilemmas.

Loves flying. When he awoke with wings he wasn't so sure, but after his first taste of flying he's hardly ever touching the ground.

He's got no sense of purpose after restoring the dark future, he wasn't supposed to live this long, after all. So, he's just rolling with whatever Buia wants to do.

Scared of his apathy. Believes he's genuinely incapable of caring for someone. If Buia had disappeared instead of him, would he have cried like she did?

"Better insecure than unsecure and I *locks door to his heart* am very secure."

Buia

The most friendly, outgoing person you'll ever meet, but obsessed with battling. She will fight anyone. (Basically Nemona)

"Some call my relentless optimism annoying. I call it a coping mechanism!"

Wishes she was a fire type. As such, she carries a little pouch with a stockpile of blast seeds. She's banned from bringing the pouch into Spinda's. (Jasper learned Heat Wave just to make her jealous)

Also loves flying, often seen hanging from Jasper's talons as he soars over town.

She's always bouncing off the walls with energy, but physical touch is like an off-switch for her. If she needs to sit still, she'll pull Jasper into her lap and play with his plumage (he secretly loves it, but pretends otherwise).

She has a flower tattoo on her left leg, and spots on her belly (the spots may change colour/pattern as I play around with them).
