#NormanReedusTheDog at the start of the @usa_curl vs @curlingcanada match this morning. So glad paying extra for the upgraded cable tv package includes the ability to watch #curling live on @olympicchannel & NBCSN. The first half of the @teamshustercurling vs @teamkevinkoe match was Even Steven (1-1). Such a good way to start the day - watching curling, puppy cuddles, and drinking Lofbergs coffee from Sweden ☕️☕️☕️ It’s interesting how one person could manage multiple teams’ social media accounts and have a completely different approach to fan engagement depending on the team. My previous job was as Marketing Coordinator and one of my duties was managing the various social media accounts for a teen center and its parent company, but it was all one umbrella, not competing teams. I appreciate Team Shuster’s strategy to encourage fan engagement this morning on FB and Twitter both as someone with experience managing social media accounts as a professional and as a hardcore fangirl who has no life and lives for any sort of acknowledgement of my existence that I can get. Thank you Team Shuster for making fans feel welcome and counted even if we cannot physically be in Canada to cheer you on in person. The various locations mentioned by fans is a true testament to the growth of the sport in America thanks in large part to the Miracurl on Ice. Special shoutout to birthday girl @realgrumpycat ‘s social media team. She has 1.5 million followers on Twitter and follows over 53,000 people. I’m lucky enough to be one of them. I’m so excited for #NBCSN #CurlingNight in America. I wish I could attend the event taping in person later this month in #Chaska but given my back issues right now, traveling by plane or long car trips are out of the question, even if I could afford to travel across the country and get the days off work... • As some of you may know, I’ve now become such a huge #curling #fangirl much to the annoyance of some people who probably wish I would just shut up about my curling obsession and go away from social media, but I digress.... #fangirlproblems • With #TeamShuster ’s win at the Olympics, I really hope more people in the US would get into curling. It certainly worked for me - I’m a paid member of my local curling club.
