I have to say, I was surprised to wake up to news that @grandslamofcurling is coming to #LasVegas in 2021. I was thinking #ContCup2021 or maybe Worlds, but I’ll take a #GSOC on US soil! I’ll visit Canada eventually and stock up on @lofbergs coffee and Voltaren gel. . . Since they’re using @niklasedin in the promos, that means there’s no chance @teamniklasedin will withdraw from the event, right? I know certain events have eligibility requirements so I hope @team.minera.skifer will be competing at the #MeridianOpen 🙏🤞 I should have a Norway flag and scarf by then to be my usual extraAF self. I really hope to meet #TeamUlsrud someday, they post the best content on IG & FB and have been wonderful w/ fan engagement. Make sure you’re following them on social media! . . No word yet on where the Continental Cup will be come 2021 though. They wouldn’t host both the CC and a GSOC in Vegas back to back, right? I couldn’t in good conscience wear my 🇳🇴 fancy pants to #ShockArmy rehearsals on Friday knowing my history of wardrobe challenges (*cough pants falling down because I have no butt to hold them up cough*) and the type of moves we tend to do while dancing. I’ve worn the pants to #curling in the past as originally intended by #TeamUlsrud 😂 So I wore my #Norway #jersey instead and took a pic w/ Tessa who is the only one I know in San Diego who’s partly #Norwegian (she’s 1/4) 😂 Still bummed I didn’t get to meet @team.minera.skifer and cheer them on in person over Valentine’s weekend, but hopefully there’ll be other events in the near future. Bummed I’m not in #Calgary for the #GlencoeInvitational this #ValentinesDay weekend. I really wanted to finally meet the new #TeamUlsrud aka @team.minera.skifer I was stoked when I first heard about it & waited with bated breath for more info. Unfortunately, the only way an American fangirl like me could’ve gotten tix to this exclusive soldout funspiel was to be the highest bidder on the last 4 tickets left made available recently. Yea I didn’t want to risk spending $$$$ on a trip to Canada for #curling w/o tix to the event. . . Silver lining might be that I won’t be getting thrown out of the venue for extreme fangirling 😂 I commissioned this curling #digitalart #fanart from @doodledarren who happens to be the Assistant Director of the hip hop dance group I’m in and a talented #artist He’s drawn me w/ @teamniklasedin & @saramcmanus in the past. The inspiration is of course me fangirling at the event, complete w/ a sign, the total opposite of real life. The only accurate thing about me in this photo is that I do own 🇳🇴 fancy pants. I unfortunately don’t have a 🥌🇨🇦 toque & will never own the new Team Edin hoodie from @dynastycurling . . Perhaps it’s for the best because meeting @niklasedin & Team Edin in Vegas last year has taught me there’s some truth to the saying Never Meet Your Heroes/Idols, because you’ll be disappointed. Congrats to @team.minera.skifer on their win against Team Germany earlier 👏👏👏 It was neat to see #ThomasUlsrud and #TeamMineraSkifer on tv even for a little bit. Looking forward to when the new #TeamUlsrud faces off against @teamniklasedin later on in the European Championships - it’s the 2nd of 3 games featuring Team Edin that will be shown on tv in the US. #MCM shoutout for the members of @team.minera.skifer aka #TeamUlsrud The #Norwegians are getting prepped for the upcoming European Championships in Helsingborg Sweden. I’m excited that I’ll get to see @thomasulsrud to duke it out again against @niklasedin Even better that the Team Ulsrud vs @teamniklasedin game will be broadcast on tv in the US on Olympic Channel. Glad I don’t have to bend over backwards and go out of my way just to watch curling on tv. Canadians have no idea how hard it is to be a hardcore curling fangirl when you live outside of Canada.
