@amcthewalkingdead did a season 1 marathon today & I of course watched & live tweeted it all. It’s a nice trip down memory lane & quite a different experience now in light of the global pandemic we’re dealing with right now. As much drama as being a hardcore #twd #fangirl has been over the course of a decade, I appreciate the friends I’ve made over the years. This is quite unlike other #fandoms like curling where my level of balls to the walls if it’s worth doing it’s worth overdoing high level of intense, loyal, dedicated, engaged, devoted fangirling & support gets me blocked/muted by people who don’t like me & cowards who hide behind the anonymity of official accounts (e.g., junior program I’ve never heard of til I learned they blocked me & several folks in my circle) #lilterror Nobody understands a hardcore fangirl quite like another hardcore fangirl & it doesn’t get any more intense than cosplayers. . . I spent 3 years looking for the shirt Melissa wore in Carol’s first episode. That’s over 1,000 days to find a shirt on a tv show for someone who was a minor character at the time she wore it. Well @chrissycat84 spent FIVE years looking before making her own! She did a fantastic job too. I do not have her artistic skills or patience, but I fortunately had luck on my side. It brought me great joy to send her her own #screenaccurate version. I’ve never met Christine in person but we have built quite a fangirl bond. She’s fangirl engagement/appreciation goals. Unfortunately for me, the people I stan don’t see me the way hers see her. . . It took years to find the shirt from episodes 106 & 201, but I’m relentless & stubborn, I didn’t give up on it & eventually I got lucky. It’s an iconic shirt since it represented Carol being underestimated but ultimately saving the group, the first of many times. I gifted this shirt to @schmelia_ for our friendaversary. In addition to being the most famous Carol cosplayer in the world, Amelia is smart, kind, & wise beyond her years. I wouldn’t be as good a cosplayer as I am now had it not been for her mentorship & welcoming me into #CarolsUnited She continues to teach me things to this day about more serious life stuff. https://www.instagram.com/p/CEizdEuD733/?igshid=9p5uqpkol2w2
