If y'all are like me, you've probably been rewatching the Calling All Villains teaser. I've been LOVING the design for Mr. Puzzles and his expressions, especially noticing that his dials and antennae move now!!! YIPPEE!!!! MORE EXPRESSIVE PUZZLES!!!!!
But the main thing I've been looking at is his living space. I wouldn't call it a home because hoo boy.
More under the cut for those who want to see!
First, the walls. More specifically the pipes and the rafters.
At first, it looks just like a rundown apartment, but with the LARGE pipes and the odd curved section of the wall, it feels more like a space in a worn down attic or a part of a building that wasn't MEANT to be a living space. I thought the rafters looked like a sewer opening at first but then I realized they looked more wooden rather than metal. This guy most likely just found what he could just so he had a space to stay.
That feels exactly like how his studio was set up in SMG4. Haphazard, and not cohesive despite what he portrays himself as.
The haphazard nature is further proven because of THE BUCKETS.
BECAUSE LEAKS AND DRIPS. Someone please get him some repairs because. Because.
Second, the little bits of decor. The carpet under the couch with an exposed spring. It's an attempt to make something look nicer, but it's uneven. It doesn't look like there was an effort to make it look good because that's not the reason he's in that space.
The "Bless this home" looking frame in the first image seems like one thing he could get his hands on to liven up the space. But that's it.
Third, THE FRIDGE.
The grocery list... No words need to be said. He's not having a good time. This also proves that he does need to eat. But the drawing on the fridge underneath the paper I can't quite figure out is what I'm thinking about. The money signs surrounding an attempt at a self portrait. No way has he managed to find a job, and not to mention he's still dreaming of success. That part of him hasn't really changed, and that's something I'm excited to see more of :)
...
And finally. The detail I'm most terrified of. The detail I saved for last specifically because it has me in a chokehold.
The frame. And the candles.
THIS CAN IMPLY SO MUCH AND THEY DIDN'T SHOW THE PICTURE IN THE FRAME ON PURPOSE.
A picture is worth a thousand words, and a framed picture is worth more to the person who owns it. Puzzles only has two people(in a sense) that he holds in such a high regard compared to how he views everyone else: Meggy, and WPNZ.
There's no way Meggy would be showing up in this series. He knows they could never be friends, in spite of the sacrifice he made. So that leaves one more person: WPNZ. And the candles could mean something I don't want to have come true.
It either means that Puzzles thinks he's dead, or he knows he's dead. It's more likely that he thinks it because he's going through the rift ALONE and landing where he is ALONE. You can only imagine how distraught he would be thinking that his only friend DIED. And we know how upset he got when he lost WPNZ the first time.
Also, I feel like the reason WPNZ wasn't shown was because of that implication. Because of that little detail. If that image on the TV screen is something to the tune of "Calling All Villains!" then that means it's a place to SEARCH. A place for him and a place to possibly find WPNZ.
He holds so much love for WPNZ, whether you view it as romantic or platonic, to the point he likely has a framed picture of him surrounded by candles because he doesn't want to forget him. Then again, the frame could hold something else, but the evidence HEAVILY leans toward that picture being of the walking armory.
Anyways that's all I have! More may be posted later but these notes are what I had on my mind. Feel free to theorize or add more!
Analysing Shots from the new teaser until the new episode comes out
Looks to be some sort of church or something, as you can see someone in a pope(?) attire in the background, candles suggest it has something to do with religious things as candles are usually used for rituals/ceremonies in religious traditions (I think, I went to a Christian primary school and I’m going to a religious high school and they use a whole lot of candles, feel free to correct me if I’m wrong tho)
Large cabin fever labs symbol meaning that it could be the entrance and there’s something that I think is a coffin in the distance. Likely a flashback/tape.
Maybe they’d find a tape or something that could show them how the core collapsed? Maybe how Nori died (possibly by N)
I might be overthinking it but I’m impatient and want to share my theories
So I was rewatching the Season 2 teaser yet again and I noticed something else. One of the first scenes is Dick and Jason punching each other in their Robin uniforms, and that’s what got me thinking.
As when can see, Dick is obviously wearing his Robin suit. But he burned that after the Asylum, so I have three theories:
FLASHBACK: this happened after episode 6 “Jason Todd” and before episode 7 “Asylum”, which makes pretty much no sense, for I believe there is no time for this, and we have no introduction to this place they are at.
ILLUSION: this is an illusion or hallucination Dick is experimenting while under Trigun “control” or influence. We saw it happened once, so I might happen again, it could explain the Robin suit still being used, and the violent way Dick is fighting Jason.
TRAINING: this was my first idea, but upon giving more thought it might not be training at all. If it is, it’s very intense training, and if it’s happening at the present time, it means Dick has a second Robin suit (a spare, because in the line of duty it might as well be too damaged for further use) and he decided to use it again, despite making it clear he wanted to move on from it.
This is it, finally haha Now I’m most inclined to believe it’s some sort of illusion, but let’s wait for Season 2 to air so we can find the truth!
I decided to look over all teasers of Showdown Bandit to try and guess more of the mechanics and possible gameplay or story. Here's my guesses from the first thoughts simplified.
Theme: Western or Toys (mainly horror and targeting childhood)
Mechanics: Shooting
Main/Playable Characters: Toy or Toymaker
Now here's what I got from rewatching ALL of the teasers. First are the shadowed characters, most of them have these texture and features to that of puppets. Sure there are some toy puppets children played with but I think the theme focuses more on a puppet show specifically a popular and forgotten series like Bendy. It is still targeting our childhood but we can cross the toy related things out for now. Now, the music for most of it is Western but I'm still going to say it might not focus just on Western until I get more information. Puppet Shows tend to change locations and scenery.
Now to Mechanics... First I thought it might be a straight up shooter until I noticed a few interesting quotes from previous teasers. Most are stuff you hear from those in old westerns except for one. One of these quotes being "Don't look up". It strongly connects with the puppet show theme and horror. If you are playing as the puppet who is completely conscious and look up, you end up seeing the puppeteer and learn that all your actions weren't your own or by your own will. You are forced to follow the fate left to you by the puppeteer whether be death or a 'happy ending'. Like a specific series of indie horror... The last quote is also might be the key mechanic to this game, 'Cut the strings.' This could have two meanings.
The first is freedom. The term 'Someone's puppet' means you are enslaved to their will and command. Cutting a puppet's strings frees the puppet from the puppeteer's control. You might possibly be cutting the strings of other puppets to free them from the mystery antagonist. However cutting the strings could also mean death. If you seen Disney's Hercules and the Three Creepy Sisters who control fate, they take the life of a being by cutting their string. This specific string is their lifeline and connection to the living world. Cutting that string will rip them from that permanently. Cutting a puppet's string frees them from the puppeteer's control but leave them lifeless. They can't move without someone pulling their strings. The dead can't move.
The next is one of the shadow characters is different than the others. This one on the video marked 'Don't look up' and what's missing from the picture makes it perfectly clear. This...ain't no puppet. So far I can make out a red hoodie jacket and the face covered by an old and creepy white mask. I have two guesses who this is but I'll be getting into that for characters. Our key mechanic will be rotating around the strings. Each string being a part of our health and the last string cut...means death. And finally the last video revealing our center character...and one of the enemies. Behind the first fully revealed which will nickname Showdown Bandit since it's very likely this puppet actually has a real name and this is an alias. So enemy like I said looked like it didn't belong but thanks to a paused picture of it striking from Superhorrorbro's video, I managed to see the weapon.
The weapon is a blade but more importantly... It looks like half of a pair of scissors. I'm not talking about the scissors you see in school but those use for specific material like strings. This can also link to the identity of our mysterious puppeteer. This enemy will be going for your strings so you have to avoid them and get to theirs. We might also be having assistance from some of the shadowed puppets who could play key roles in gameplay.
Now for the characters... It's very highly likely will be playing as a puppet but is it actually the puppet or someone else within it. If you look at Showdown Bandit when he comes out into the light, you can see that he is very old. Sunken eyes, liver spots, old fading paint, torn hat, loose jaw and his cheek is cracked and sewed. This puppet clearly has been used a lot so he might be a character from a forgetten series of puppetry. Next is our little enemy. Just like I said before, this guy clearly looks out of place. It looks mauled yet new. Like recently ravaged as if a child or teenager like from the first Toy Story or with Mangle from Fnaf had gotten a hold of it and mutilated it. He clearly doesn't belong which links to our character from the Don't look up teaser. He is clearly not the owner or original puppeteer for Showdown Bandit. These puppets look around 20 or 30 years old, this mysterious person looks younger than that. My guess is a child to early teens. Which matches his clothing, he's wearing a red hoodie, hoodies being a type of wear that I've seen plenty kids and teenagers wear sometimes the type meaning bad news. His frame is too youthful since these puppets again look really old to be originally theirs. He is wearing a mask that automatically spells trouble. Even the music and childish laughter backs up my previous statements of this character.
This mystery puppeteer is no doubt an intruder and he is targeting Showdown Bandit and possibly the other puppets. But the mask may link to the dark secret of this horror. Bendy we found out that the workers were being used as sacrifices after Henry left with their souls being trapped in a constabt cycle of life and death. That mask ain't smiling. It looks sad and tortured. Could this mysterious puppeteer, be a victim connecting to Showdown Bandit? Like a tortured soul seeking vengeance or part of a much darker plot? But we know this puppeteer and Showdown Bandit himself are two of our biggest clues and focal points for this mystery. The other puppets will no doubt help give us some of the missing pieces to what is going on.
I'm clearly excited for this and can't wait to see more. This is all I have for now but I hope this has helped or entertained you.
Remember Rey’s Forceback and how it had all these voices layered with the music? Some of them were clear, like Yoda’s, but others were almost hidden behind the sound effects.
Well, watching the teaser trailer yet again I realised they’d done something similar to that. I don’t have any software to clean the audio, but I listened carefully several times and I found some interesting stuff.
Luke says (with the Force theme in the background):
Breathe. Just breathe. Now, reach out... What do you see?
Rey’s theme begins.
It’s only a whisper masked by the music, but there’s Leia’s voice saying “Help me, Obi Wan”.
We see Leia,
and Rey says:
Light.
The music changes; it’s Kylo’s motif now mixed with Vader’s breathing and behind that, there’s Obi Wan’s (Alec Guiness’) voice saying “Seduced by the Dark Side”.
We see Kylo’s shattered mask,
and Rey says:
Darkness.
The music rises to a crescendo, into something new, in between of what we heard before and Yoda’s voice tells us “Surrounds us...binds us”.
We see the books and a gloved hand touching the Jedi Order symbol on one of them,
and Rey says:
The balance.
We hear a lightsaber’s ignition.
Luke says:
It’s so much bigger.
Here are my two cents on this---recognizing I just got all this from ten seconds out of a two-minutes trailer and I AM over-analyzing it.
I think many of us got an idea after watching TFA: that the future of the saga (and of the Jedi) would rest on Rey and Kylo Ren’s shoulders---or rather on the shoulders of their dynamic, and that this dynamic would unfold towards a middle ground. Not to light, not to darkness, but to balance.
Now, considering the hints in the teaser:
-the use of the music when talking about ‘light’ (Rey’s theme) and ‘darkness’ (Kylo Ren’s motif),
-how inserting voices and phrases that have been said before gives this bit an eerily similar feel to Rey’s forceback, which was the first connection Rey and Kylo had (Yoda’s phrase it’s the same we hear in the forceback),
-the choice of said voices and phrases and how they paint a background for the images (Vader’s breathing through his mask while we see Kylo’s shattered, Yoda speaking again of the nature of the Force while we see the books). Also, there’s a lot of focus on Obi Wan again (we hear his voice, Leia talks to him, so there ya go Rey Kenobi theorists).
It’s all interwoven, masterfully. The editing work is amazing and it’s already been said, nothing we see is random. I believe this teaser is not the exception to the rule.
Further, this has only cemented the ideas that TFA gave me. Whether we get a romance between Rey and Kylo remains to be seen; but there will be Reylo, in one way or another.
You know what time it is: Arcane trailer dissection time!!
Just your old Arcane obsessed terminally online person reviewing the most interesting screens (biased) from the teaser that just dropped.
Mamma Medarda just looks DOPE as FUCK in this mask, nothing else to say. She seems to be speaking to Mel, which would indicate she survives, which I hope for. We're clearly dealing with a soft Noxus invasion given the prevalence of Ambessa's troops.
Very interesting to see these troops activating. You have to wonder if they're a failsafe to Silco dying, or if they are being activated by Silco loyalists.
Not doing our girl any favours with that one.
VERY interesting to see Singed getting arrested in a teaser, because that hints it'll happen early on. I figure then that Warwick's escape would probably happen early as well. We may be looking at Singed and Heimerdinger old pal reunions weee
Gotta wonder if he ACTUALLY gets captured though, because Warwick might be a great get out of arrest card.
SEVIKA!!! WITH!! jINX'S GUN!!! I first though for SURE she must have stolen it, or found it, but do you know what?? She has a custom made Jinx arm!!!!
It doesn't seem haphazard, even if it's ungainly. There's a non zero chance that these two are united by Silco's death, instead of split apart!
This strike is clearly showing Medarda's fist. Mommy will be VERY active in this early on.
The previous fist image with projectile launch happens right after those shots. I wonder if that contraption has anything to do with Medarda instead of Jinx or someone else, because poison (spilling from the mouth?) is also a very Noxian thing (thank you, Singed)
What's with Smeech getting SUCH a highlight? What a dope design. Also that shot is the same colours and location style as Sevika shooting with her Jinx augment, so I am wondering if Sevika won't be the one killing him.
Freedom fight Jinx style art? Wow. With blue haired minions behind her? Unexpected! I wonder what Ekko and his firelights think about this, and whether they'll take her in despite everything. This seems to be very Zaun vs. Piltover now.
Our only proof of Viktor in season 2. He's in the Zaun depth with caped figures, most likely shimmer addicts. I wonder if the explosion is him saving them and starting his machine cult, or him defending himself. Anyway, he survives, and I also wonder how many physical augments he needs to heal himself from the explosion, courtesy of the hex core?
Of course the only proof we need that Jayce is alive is that Cait has an Arcane sniper rifle. I don't see Viktor making her one after the explosion........
