NewGod!Tony Stark: (American Gods crossover)

Fic Prompt:

In the MCU Tony Stark basically symbolizes most technological innovations and now, clean energy. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him suddenly shine with the power of a New God. I would definitely love to read fics where he either realizes he was always different (being able to do things even geniuses couldn’t) or just one day wakes up to a whole new world view and powers of a new god. (Much like Shadowmoon from American Gods)

I’m okay with gen, but extra kudos for either FrostIron (Loki x Tony) or WinterIron (Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes x Tony)

This is a study of RDJ’s face from the movies. I needed to do more realism studies because I frankly suck at them. = A = gah.

So, was reading fanfic on my tablet in the living room (since that’s a thing I can do now since my dad won the thing in a drawing and let me have in since he already had one), turned off the screen and left it there for awhile, undisturbed.

Fix myself a glass of cold water with lemon juice in it, because it’s delicious and also good for my messed up pH level.

Leave the cup of water by the tablet, so one plastic corner is barely touching the glass of the cup.

My tablet: (dramatic reenactment) Oh- oh my! The contents of this glass vessel! So fresh! So tart! So revitalizing! I- I feel the need to reinvent myself from the ground up and discover who I truly am!!! (metaphorical transformation montage)

I decide to continue reading that fic and turn the screen of my tablet back on.

My tablet: Welcome to your Brand New Never-Been-Used-Before Amazon Fire, with no data on it anywhere in sight! Are you ready to set up?

Me: ...

I have no idea how or why it did this, none of its buttons got touched in any weird ways, it didn’t get wet, it just... spontaneously decided to revert to factory settings, and also say a very clear Fuck You to the lovely sd card I got for it to increase its memory and which it never liked in the first place but which I have left in with a sense of forlorn hope than maybe one day it will change its mind.

Glad I made purposeful decisions to keep myself from getting to attached to using it, planning to ask Techgod if he will use his tech-godliness to make the danged thing have my data again so I don’t have to set it up again.

...may be having to get a new MP3 player this month - this will be determined when I find out whether the battery of my current one was just stupid low and needed a long time to get enough juice to turn on, or whether it’s just signed off for good. I kind of hope it’s just taking awhile to charge - I’ve always used SanDisks, but the latest gen doesn’t have an sd card slot, and I’m not paying $59.99 usd in the year of our lord 2023 for something with 32 gigs of memory and no sd slot. I don’t even bother using the internal memory these days, I just keep it all on the sd card so that when I need a new MP3 player eventually I can just transfer it over and instantly have my whole library ready.

If I need to get a new one, I will, and I’ll pay to get one with decent sound and stuff (I bought one that was cheap once - big mistake, totally useless), but if I do I’m gonna be buy from a new brand for the first time ever.

...I should ask Techgod about this if I need to get a new one, he’s a tech god, he knows things, like product specifications, and how to safely buy tech second hand without getting swindled, which are skills that are both valuable and admirable, especially to someone like me who always buys new purely because I’m exactly the sort of dupe people selling faulty tech can see coming a mile off, and I can’t afford to try again if I don’t get it right first try. Still getting used to having someone like this in the pool of people I know.
