Daily habits and work ethic of an exemplary Technical Account Manager
A person’s work ethic is a representation of his character. Whether you’re working as an entry-level assistant in a giant corporation or you’re a modest entrepreneur running a small business, having the natural inclination to proactively take on new responsibilities and work hard to achieve your goals always results in more progress, more productivity, and eventually, more success.
Work ethic functions as a mentality, and that mentality is shaped by our habits. If you engage in more habits that require a strong work ethic, you’ll be more likely to transfer that to other areas of your life. Discipline is like a muscle–it can be worn out, but it can also be strengthened over time. If you inject your routine with more everyday tasks that require focus and discipline, you can actively improve your overall work ethic. At the same time, you can take a measure of your current work ethic by examining an element of your routine.
As a Technical Account Manager, I would like to stress the important elements of a strong work ethic.
Integrity should permeate every aspect of our job, from how we deal with our clients to how we treat our co-workers and our superiors. It means doing the right things, even if no one is watching. Its greatest impact is seen in your relationships with the people around you, which is why integrity is seen as one of the most important ingredients of Trust.
If you are part of a team, your behavior should be in tune with everyone, in accordance with a clear set of guidelines in working together toward a clear purpose. As a Technical Account Manager, a true integrity is the source of our responsibilities against our clients and company.
Emphasis on Quality of Work
If you show dedication and commitment with successful results in your work, then your work ethic will definitely shine. While some employees do only the barest minimum, or what is expected of them, there are those who go beyond that.
They do more, they perform better, and they definitely go the extra mile to come up with results that surpass expectations. Clearly, these employees are those who belong to the group with a solid work ethic.
The word “professionalism” is often seen as something that is too broad or wide in scope, covering everything from your appearance to how you conduct yourself in the presence of other people.
Being punctional can also be considered as a part of professionalism. An employee with well professionalism is punctual to appointments with clients and meetings with staff and management. His/Her work is completed on time and he meets all deadlines given to him.
Another professional quality is being accountable for our actions. Someone with a high degree of professionalism takes responsibility for his/her assignments, his/her actions and any problems that arise resulting from his/her work. If a problem happens where a client didn’t get the solution on time because the team member forgot to transmit it to the operations center, the professional person will take responsibility and take action to resolve the issue. There is no passing the buck with a professional employee.
A Technical Account Manager should always code professionalism in order to build a strong trust with clients, co-workers and superiors.
Work ethic is something that emanates from within. You can tell an employee to do this and that, be like this and like that, over and over, but if they do not have enough discipline to adhere to the rules and follow through with their performance, then there is no way that they can become the productive employees that the company wants.
Discipline involves focus, dedication and determination on your part to do what you should. A well disciplined Technical Account Manager can do his/her job with a great productivity.
The moment you became part of the organization and assigned tasks and duties, you have a responsibility that you must fulfill. If you have a strong work ethic, you will be concerned with ensuring that you are able to fulfill your duties and responsibilities. You will also feel inclined to do your best if you want to get the best results.
As a Technical Account Manager, you are part of an organization. You are simply one piece of a puzzle, which means you have to work with other people. If you are unable to do so, this will put your work ethic into question.
