“They weren’t born… A mortal?”
A light wind brushed over your features, causing you to give a small sigh and roll over onto your side in an attempt to block the light from hitting your lidded eyes. It was nice and quiet for once…
“(Y/n)?” A distorted voice echoed softly, causing you to flinch a bit. You opened your eyes slightly to see a silky blackbird sitting on the sheets beside you, a few golden trinkets laying beside it. Upon seeing your eyes slide open, the creature hopped up onto its legs and began making soft cooing noises, “(Y/n)! (Y/n), you’re awake!”
Glancing around at the surroundings you had been placed in, racking your mind for any sort of familiarity but failing to come up with anything at all, even who you were. You sat up, slowly brushing your fingers along your ombre silk clothing before putting your hands on the sheets below your body, frowning as you didn’t recognize the bed as yours.
“Hello…” You murmured softly, reaching your hand out to the crow who eagerly jumped forward to nuzzle your hand. The feathers of the bird felt… Odd. They felt more like grabbing at misty fog, but with a light staticky cotton texture that caused a buzzing sensation on your fingertips, “I’m sorry, my memory… Seems to be a tad faulty… Could you tell me your name?”
“I’m Chat, Dadza- er… Philza’s familiar! I was a gift from Mumza, oops... Kristen, the Goddess of Void and Death.” It chirped, its voice having multiple layers in your head, causing you to shake your head a slight bit, “No, they’re not married, only parental figures to the souls that pass on to the afterlife or those they saved sometime before they passed on… I believe they have more of a co-worker relationship.”
You nodded slightly, pursing your lips at how the creature’s voice sounded in your mind. It was unsettling and caused shivers to crawl up and down your back, but at the same time, it was incredibly calming and had a soothing aura. How that worked, you had no clue whatsoever. Brushing off the unsettling voice of the bird, you decided to focus on the name that caused a light to go off in your head, “Alright… Philza… I think I remember that name…”
“Yeah! Dadza- Eck… Sorry. Phil, he’s the God of Survival and Crows! He controls not only every crow in the mortal land, but he also controls whether or not someone will survive a situation. If there is no way that the mortal can survive, he will send a crow down and have them guide the soul of the mortal to him! Then he escorts them to Kristen! He has gained the name Angel of Death because he works for Mumza!”
You decided not to question why the crow called Philza and Kristen Mumza and Dadza, knowing that you’d probably find out later, but by the sound of it Chat seemed to be multiple children, “Okay… Makes sense…” You mumbled slowly, nodding your head up and down. With a sigh you slowly brought your legs over to the side of the bed, only now becoming aware of how large the soft mattress was. Lowlands! (Hell) You could probably fit six people who were ten feet tall in it with room to roam! Pushing yourself off the bed, you also realized how high the beautiful bed was off the floor, Gods, whoever lived here was tall!
Behind you, you heard a small chirp, and you saw Chat watching you curiously. With a small shrug, you decided to pick the familiar up and hold it in your cupped hands as you walked out the door, “Oooh! Dadza never carries us like this, and Technoblade does only when he’s about to yeet us out a window!”
“Yeet?” You scowled in confusion as you walked through the arched doorway, your bare feet padding silently on the quartz flooring, “I'm scared to ask. Technoblade? Is he also a god of some things? He sounds familiar as well…”
“That’s its word for throwing something. Well, it yells the word when they throw something or get thrown, so I assume it’s yelling in excitement,” A deep voice spoke from in front of you, causing you to gasp and lift your head from the crow. The telepathic chirping and squeaks from Chat in your mind quickly formed the name Technoblade, so… You had a feeling that your answer was on its way past his
lips, “I’m Technoblade, or Techno, the God of Blood and War. It’s… nice to see you finally awake…” He shifted awkwardly on his feet as you curiously studied him.
His appearance could certainly be described as godly if anyone asked you. His long pink hair was mostly twisted and tied into a braid with bits of golden chain and a polished golden crown adorned with rubies, garnets and diamonds. Upon his pale skin, dozens of scars of varying sizes decorated his skin in different areas, but they were displayed in an almost proud manner. Almost. When he spoke, his dark pink eyes hidden behind cracked glasses searched your form for any sort of injury, “I’m… (Y/n)... I think. I don’t know if this bird is exactly trustworthy in its information… Do you know where I am?”
Techno snorted as Chat gave an offended squawk at your statement, “That’s very fair, to be honest. You’re in the Tundra of the Upperlands, and this is my palace. No there is no snow, I believe the person who named this place has never looked into the name or word Tundra, but it’s been like this for too long to change it-” He paused for a moment as he noticed you looking extremely confused, “Ah. Right. Desert. Don’t worry about it.”
“Oh… Okay…” You frowned at the tusked male for a moment before shaking your head, deciding not to question it much, “Now, uh… How did I get here, and why don’t I remember anything about myself? Or, about you and this Philza guy, I was told about.” You lifted Chat slightly toward Techno as a silent indication that Chat was the one who told you about Phil.
“That’s uh… Phil’s field of expertise.” He rubbed the back of his head with his black-tipped fingers before adjusting his crown, “I don’t understand much of what happened, and Phil will tell you what you need to know that will keep you safe.” Hesitantly, he held his free hand out towards you making you realize that he was easily over seven and a half feet tall, “C’mon, I’ll take you to him and get you the answers you need.”
His hand was extremely steady, you noticed as you stared down at it cautiously. Once you noticed that he didn’t seem to want to do you harm, you slowly shifted Chat into one hand and used your free hand to take the one extended to you, which you couldn’t help but notice, made Technoblade very happy, “Okay. Thank you.”
The god held your hand in his calloused one for a few moments before beginning to lead you down the tan and white hallways that were turned a light golden hue from the rising sun. It was quite a long walk filled with a slightly uncomfortable silence, but you distracted yourself by looking around the palace curiously. It was obvious he was the God of War by how many swords hanging on walls and sets of armour he had placed on armour stands in the hallways.
Eventually, he walked you through an archway that led into a wide-open room with multiple windows that had many crows perched on the windowsills, some chirping and singing some little tune in perfect unison while others shuffled around, seeming to do a little dance. You were quick to realize the whistling of one of the birds didn’t match up and noticed that it was coming from the man with the large white and green striped hat as well as massive black feathered wings dangling on his back, fluffing themselves up every so often. When you and Techno stepped in, the blackbirds started chirping loudly, losing the rhythm of the tune the winged man was whistling as Chat started telepathically squealing about… 2/4? Two out of four what?
“Ah!” The hat-wearing male turned around and clasped his hands together upon seeing you standing up, “(Y/n), you’re awake. I was worried the injuries you sustained were enough to keep you out cold for a few more weeks. I’m glad to see I was wrong. I’m Philza, God of Survival and Crows, and I see you’ve met Chat and Techno. Pesky bird, I told it not to wake you...”
You pursed your lips for a moment, analyzing the shorter god as the bird squealed out its protests. While he was shorter than Techno, he was certainly tall, standing roughly around six feet tall, his wingspan
probably double that for each wing! His blonde hair was long around his face but was pulled into a loose braid like Techno’s was, although instead of gold intertwined into his hair, it was silver. His outfit was made up of a loose green shirt and black pants, with a red heart-shaped pendant dangling off of a chain into the center of his chest. Why did that pendant… Look familiar? You slowly rose your hand up and clasped at the pendant around your neck, noticing how Philza smiled softly, “Technoblade… Said you could tell me why I can’t remember anything?”
“You’re still wearing my gift, I see,” Philza gave a soft hum as Chat jumped from your hand and onto his shoulder, before gesturing for you and Techno to take a seat where he already had drinks and some form of cakes set out, but they certainly weren’t there when you came in. Upon seeing your confused blinking, he gave a soft laugh, “I’m a god, mate, magic is no difficult task for me, let alone creating some measly tea and desserts. Now, sit down and I will tell you everything…”

this is a part two of the blood god's sacrifice! (inspired by an ask from @bloodgoddarlin's blog) (hadestown au)
almost 3k words!
*
harsh footsteps echo against the hallway outside of her office, and though she had a good idea of who was here, she just had a tiny hope that just maybe, they'd walk right past her.
her door slams open, shaking the room and the floor, spilling her coffee over some documents she was trying to read. lifting her eyes up, she made eye contact with an old friend.
his iconic red robe, gone from his shoulders, and the shirt he had on him, was barely holding on by some miracle. same old pants, same old boots, but the hair that sits on his head is considerably shorter. cut jagged at his shoulders and pulled behind his ears.
he huffs, and takes the seat in front of her desk, opening his mouth but she holds a hand up. "technoblade, what in the overworld are you doing here? if i remember correctly, you have a little over a thousand years before you're ever supposed to meet me."
his shoulders jerk forward as he tries to calm himself down, no doubt hearing the voices that phil had told her about.
he breathed in, meeting her eyes again, "i'm here for them."
kristin knew that. knew he wouldn't just lie down and let his lover die. regardless of the cause. she tapped the pencil in her hand on the desk, looking from techno to the bare walls, and the singular window looking out the underworld domain. it was bare, 'cept the singular path to the living. no one had ever walked it before, mostly due to the fact everyone had their own personal afterlife, making it hard for them to return when everything they could want is right before them.
(except for those who didn't do any good in their life. like schlatt, she had something dastardly for him but his ghost refused to tell him where in the hell his soul is. she thinks he sold it to the demigod of the server. like her son. wilbur who began and ended his own country. she couldn't look away when he first stepped off the train, for his first year. until it was too much to listen to his wails.)
"i can't give you them, they bargained their own soul and therefore i can't break any contract outside of the parties who signed. they signed their fate, for your sake no less," kristin spoke, leaning back to shuffle through her filing cabinet.
when she found yours, she refiled through it and then rotated it to show the god before her.
"their soul for the thousands you were going to take on your doomsday."
techno took the file from her hand at her gesture, hands shaking as they pushed aside a paper to pull a picture of your face, your laughing, living and breathing, face as you were peeling oranges and feeding him some. a single tear dripped onto the picture.
"could i convince them, theoretically, to take it back and break the contract, would you let me have this one chance?" kristin doesn't say anything first, taking your file back and shoving it into the cabinet. she runs her fingers over her hair and then down her face, rubbing at her eyelids while thinking on it.
"what i can do is let you see them one last time, have your goodbye and leave by my or phil's escort." she stood from her seat, going to the other cabinet and fingering through the papers before handing it to him, still sitting. "here is the map to their afterlife. i cannot say anything about breaking the contract. we'll talk after."
"but-"
"i'm breaking a lot of rules already, tech, please, just take this one thing i can do for you and go." she lays a hand on his shoulder, and he realizes, feels it in his bones and worn muscles that he would not be taking you home.
exiting her office, he stares down at the map and then to the hallway that never seemed to end to his right. doors lining the hall, he knew it would be a while to get to yours. (he'd come through the elevator on his right, the fragile thing had felt like he would fall straight through the floor.)
he doesn't run, doesn't walk though, he just simply keeps going.
hours seem to pass before he comes across your door, your name scribbled into the wood. he traces the letters, trembling as his hand falls to his side and to the door knob.
opening the door, he found a sight that brought him to his knees.
*
after your trip to her office, she offered you something to soothe your pain, but with every minute you spent in this room, you forgot the very reason you came here.
you sat on a chair, sewing a red robe, though it seemed that it would be too big for you. you didn't know why you were making it in the first place, but it belonged to someone important, you knew, in your ever decaying memory.
breathing in, you leaned back into the soft chair, your hands would numb after a few hours but you knew you had to keep going. it would take forever if you didn't hurry.
hours passed, or days, you really couldn't tell, before anything else interesting happened.
the door knob shook as it turned, maybe it would be the nice lady who gave you your fabric and thread, but cutting the thread with your teeth, it was finished.
holding it up, you admired your handiwork, before turning your head to the opening door.
*
he fell to his knees, he found you. you were sitting in his armchair, custom-made to his size and stature. beside the fireplace. sewing his robe.
your head turns to him and confusion clouds your eyes, as if you had no idea who he was.
"i'm sorry, are you okay?" you spoke softly, as if scared of what you'll find out. a man entered your room, fell to his knees, and looked as if he was going to start begging. for what, you didn't know.
he stands to his feet only to approach you and takes a seat in front of you, legs pulled beneath him as he just settles for your attention at the moment.
you let him sit there and even fiddle with your hands before offering him the robe in your hands, seeing as he's the only person large enough to possibly fit in it.
(kristin is sitting in her office before she slaps a palm to her forehead, leaning back to pull at your file and sees that one terrible thing about their afterlife was forgetting everything important. she's putting aside a lot of rules for these people, she sighs, as she snaps her fingers and watches as the ink simply disappears.)
your fingers brush against his and in that moment everything rushed to your head.
meeting him in the rubble of l'manburg.
being taken in by him.
learning how to sew with him.
learning to trust people again.
learning to love each other.
you gasp, dropping the robe from your hands and as he stares with wide eyes at you, a sob makes its way through your throat. “technoblade-” you scramble out of the chair and he does the same, slouching to meet your stare, somehow knowing.
your hands tremble as they reach up to cradle his face, and when your hands meet his cheeks, he nuzzles into them, covering them with his and pressing kisses into your palms. “i’ve missed you so much, love, i walked so far-” he whispers to you as you move to curl into his body with a hug. he used one hand to hold your small one as he used his other arm to pull you closer to him, burying his nose into the crook of your neck.
the only thing that truly sets you apart from the you before is that you smelt just like the underworld, like ash and fire.
“i’m so sorry, i just couldn’t-”
“i’m sorry i wasn’t there for-”
you both try to apologize but nothing truly comes out with you two sobbing messes. techno, with how long it's been since he’d seen you, at one point believing he would never again hear your laugh, scared he’d never get to say goodbye properly.
with you, it was for leaving him to save people you didn’t even know. having to be selfless but wanting to be selfish, just for him, for your two futures.
“would you leave with me, if you had the chance,” he whispers, so quiet in your ear, but the thought was nothing short of what sounded like a dream. you gasp, squeezing his hand as you think it over.
“but the deal-”
“we could work something out, we could try,” he sounded so hopeful, pulling back to meet your eyes with his own, blood red irises thinning by the pupil. “would you want to try?”
your lips tremble as you try to speak, it’s all you want right now, to go home with him and never leave his side again. you nod, nod several times, and dig your nose into his chest, smelling him and only him.
“let’s go home, then.”
*
philza watched as his wife paced her office with his two friends sitting in chairs lining the wall, holding hands under his robe. “letting you two leave while i still have thousands of souls misplaced- it’s just!” kristin kept mumbling, then shouting at the two before going back to mumbling.
“dear, maybe we should let them go.” he spoke, with a small smile tucked away in his expression, something of this situation felt so familiar.
“give me one good reason why i should, phil.” she stands still, save for the finger tapping on her folded arms.
“they let you have me, even with what i’ve done.” he speaks, and lifts a necklace out from under his shirt. a small heart made of chain with a gem nestling in the center. the pendant glowed with purpose, a beautiful purple shining as it dangled from his grip and the chain. “let you let me go,” he shrugs, tucking it back to sit against his heart.
“you’re right but- phil, you have to realize that this is an entirely different case! it’s the complete opposite of us, and instead of graciously having traffic in the underworld, i have too much free time from not having nearly enough souls! i’m even sorting my filing system, phil! and you know how much i hate organizing!”
but kristin finally takes a seat, folding her arms and putting her head in the space between. she’s quiet for several moments.
“you two leave the room, i need to think on this.”
*
you both sit against the walls, side pressing against side and hands holding onto each other tightly.
“what if she says i can’t leave?” you speak against the quiet, feeling as meek as you felt.
techno doesn’t say anything at first, letting go of your hand to wrap his arm around your shoulders, pulling you into his side and covering your back with his robe.
“i’d stay here with you,” he says finally, with you protesting and moving around to sit on your knees. your hands on his shoulders as you barely meet his height like this, your eyes full of panic.
“you can’t just stay here! i might be dead but you still have a life-” he cuts you off by cupping your face and wiping the ever steady trail of tears.
“not without you.” he spoke, bringing you back to his chest, savoring the way you felt in his arms again. it is true, that he won’t leave you here, but if he was forced to leave, he would fight it every which way till he found you again.
you rest in his lap as you both wait for kristin to decide, and he lets you fall asleep, promising to wake you up when she’s done.
he nudges your cheek with his nose, pressing a kiss to the blotchy skin as the door swung open, with phil gesturing for them to come inside.
techno stands you up on your feet as you come to, walking side by side as you re-enter the office.
“so, y/n traded their soul for the thousands that were supposed to come during l’manburg’s doomsday, the souls are very much not here and now, you want to leave.” it sounded so bad when she laid it out like that, you squirm under her piercing stare.
“techno, how did you get here?”
it was definitely a curveball but techno’s arm never left your shoulder as he spoke. “i walked along the path from the land of the living to here.”
she nods.
“and since no one else has done that, i applaud you on that, the journey is not for the faint of heart. but seeing as you came to break this deal, to take this thousands of souls worth, i will not make it easy for you two to go home together.” you could barely hold it in, a soft gasp leaving your mouth.
“you’ll return the way you came, but with your darling following you, not side by side. they will follow you as you make the journey again.” techno held you tighter. “and one more thing, techno,” she says, tilting her head. he answers her with a weary mind.
“you will not be able to look behind you the entire trip, if you even look at them once before you both are out of the underworld, they will be returned to their afterlife, and you’ll be banned from entering the underworld until you’re dead.”
now, he’s never been one to be scared of hypotheticals. but to hear that, should he fail, it will be his fault and his fault alone.
he would never get to see you alive again and it would be his fault.
his heart didn’t stop pounding as kristin and philza led you both back down to the path, and for the first time in his life, he was scared to let you go, fearing he may never get to touch you again.
“are you ready to go home?” he asks you, full of nerves, but when he looks into your eyes for the last time, he notices one thing. you’re smiling, eyes wider and brighter than they have been since he’s found you.
“more than ready,” you stand on your tippy-toes, but he still has to lean down to catch your lips in a kiss, you murmur before letting go, “wait for me, i’ll be right behind you.”
*
despite leaving the underworld, techno feels as if he’s just agreed to walk right into a fiery pit of his own making. and though he can hear your footsteps echoing behind him, he can’t help but wonder just why kristin decided to let you go, it doesn’t sound very much like her.
it doesn’t sound right, and what if she’s just playing an illusion on his mind, as if to say, how could you ever think you could succeed? who do you think you are? who are you to lead them home?
techno is consumed by his doubts not even halfway into the trip, but still, he refuses to look behind him, refusing to give you up.
*
behind him, you walk with confidence in your lover. he would lead you home, you knew, so with every stride, you make sure your feet hit the ground with loud echoes, letting him know you were there, you were following him.
you couldn’t wait to be home with him.
*
as the time passes for hours on end, never seeming to end, techno, at one point, had to ignore everything and focus on putting one foot over the other. and then, he is blinded for a second.
light pours into his vision, peaking around the corner of a boulder, the time between them and freedom felt like an eternity. time seemed to slow down as his hand met the rock, sliding it even further into the side of the wall as he revealed the land of the living. the bright of the day blinded him and he walked even further to ensure that he was fully out.
“should i close the rock door? or just leave it?” he almost laughs at you, that sounds exactly like what you’d say, and he almost mourns for you, raising his hands to cover his eyes, refusing to look at you as he falls into the snow.
lying with his back in the snow, you close the entrance to the underworld, sealing your fate as alive. you bit your lip, grinning past the teeth that held your bottom lip. turning around, you go to kneel beside him, laying your hand on his shoulder and leaning down to whisper in his ear.
whatever you said, he hesitates to uncover his eyes but when he does, tears don’t stop from falling down the sides of his face. he sits up, hand hovering in the air as he wants to hold your face in it but you don’t hesitate to bring it up to your cheek, smiling into the palm. he chokes on his breath, choking on a laugh as he watches you fill with more life than before this entire thing was brought on.
“we did it, techno, we’re home!” you cry as he nods.
he lurches forward, using his other hand to cup your other cheek and places a feverish kiss on your lips, pressing with nothing left to hold him back.
holding you in his arms, he gasps for air, choking on sobs as he looked to the skies above the two of you, unbelieving that you're truly alive. he reaches upwards to hold the back of your head, stroking it once to smooth the hairs down, before choking out a breath, "i was so scared."
leaning back and holding you to his chest, the two of you lie in the snowbank, watching as the clouds roll past your vision.
at some point, you sit up, moving to lean over him. you brush your nose against his, ghosting your lips over his and just relished in the feeling of him. a soft kiss later, you mumble out, "let's go home."
yes am i morally against technoblades actions on the server. HOWEVER, i have never known pain like when he yelled “i’m a person!” at tommy.
after the events of manberg vs pogtopia, technoblade lived in isolation. why? because he had been betrayed by everyone he considered a friend. he built walls around his heart, keeping everyone (with the exception of philza) away.
and then tommy showed up. tommy was betrayed by his friends and his government and left for dead. at first, techno didn’t want to let tommy into his life. tommy was one of the “friends” who’d betrayed him. but as time went on, techno warmed up to him, taking down the walls and calling tommy his friend. and he thought tommy felt the same way.
and then tommy turned his back on techno, going back to the government who had betrayed him, going against technoblade. after weeks of using his resources and stealing his stuff, tommy left him.
when techno yells: “im a person!” its because tommy only views techno as “the blade”. the pvp legend, the blood god, the violent person who knows nothing but murder and anarchy. even just by calling him “the blade” tommy is showing that he values the violent “blade” over the peaceful “techno”.

Fearsome, bloody gruesome.
Insanely loyal.
Loving to a fault.
You committed the memory of your lover to your brain, tried to savor the memories of late mornings, hazy moments of life-or-death choices, feverish kisses after weeks of not seeing each other.
Tried to remember the face, you knew, that loved you. "Wait for me, my love, I'll see you later," you had told him, telling him to hold on to breakfast. To wait for you to come back.
But you knew what you had to do.
He was going to blow L'manburg to smithereens. And as much as you loved that man, you couldn't let so many people die. Couldn't stand by and let them get hurt.
Approaching the forest that sprung up a while back, you take a seat in the middle of suspiciously arranged boulders, praying with your mind and soul.
There has to be a way.
You called upon the only person who could help you.
"I didn't expect to see you so soon, but then again, I have just the smallest window before… a lot of souls will have to be escorted." You turned on your knees to crane your neck to look at the goddess leaning against one of the boulders.
"That's.. that's what I called you here for." You shifted on your knees, pulling yourself to stand and she's approaching slowly.
"Oh, y/n, I can't stop this. What is going to happen will happen, we both know this." She regards you with a face already resigned, with the combined efforts of your respective lovers and the help of a madman, she would be overwhelmed with helping people.
"And what if I offered myself? In exchange for their protection, the people of L'manburg." You put your hands together, wringing them as you stared her in the eyes.
"Taking you in exchange for thousands of souls? You must know that's a deal I can't make."
"Yes, but I am Techno's… the Blood God's devoted worshiper, his lover, the one person he cares for other than Phil." You make a bold guess, but with the way her foot stills in the air as she thinks it over.
"The only one to die is the one person who's close to Technoblade, the God of Blood… y/n, you do know what this means, don't you?"
"I might never see him again but… there will be families and children and so many people who are worth dying for."
"If you come with me in exchange for the souls and lives for the people in L'manburg, you would have to leave with me now, to interrupt the flow of paperwork and cast protection spells over those you bargained for, you won't get a goodbye with Technoblade. And you will be leaving to the Underworld, you're aware of all of this, and you're absolutely sure?"
Tears welled up and a sob choked it's way out of your throat but you rub your eyes in your fists, clearing your vision before letting out the last words you'll say in the land of the living.
"I am sure. I'm ready whenever you are."
After escorting you down to her office to wait while she grabs your file, she summons one of Philza's crows, knowing they are almost done with the preparations for Doomsday.
"Let him know where their body is, they should be able to hold a small funeral for them."
With a flash of feathers and wings, the crow was gone and she had paper to fill out and figure where you'll be held.
As they arrive back at their cabins, covered in ash and gunpowder, he half expected you to be waiting for him, sitting at the table with Ranboo while playing a game of poker.
But you weren't there. Weren't in your shared bedroom. Not in the bathroom. And not in the basements. (He even checked Tommy's raccoon hole. Still no.)
You weren't anywhere, even your bowl from this morning's soup is still in its place, colder than the weather outside of his home. He couldn't imagine you'd be gone this long, where would you have gone that's so important? But you had so to wait for him to wait for you, so obviously, it shouldn't have taken you this long.
Closing the door behind him, he goes up to Phil's door, about to knock on it when it opens with harsh movements as the blond man grabbed his arm and led him down the stairs.
Techno saw the forest. Saw the ominous amount of crows surrounding the roof of the forest, but over a particular part of it. "She said… but why would they…" Phil kept mumbling to himself and refused to elaborate with him.
They found the place with all of the crows. They surrounded a meadow with a ring of boulders lining said meadow, a particular amount of vines and flowers covering something, a bulge in the dirt that was clearly not natural.
Phil rushed over and kneels next to them leaving Techno by himself, outside of the ring.
Phil's head sinks as it examines the peculiar thing, hands limply hanging by his side. Sliding his arms beneath the lump, Phil lifted them into his hold, before turning to Technoblade and stealing both of their breaths.
"No.. it can't be-" Technoblade rushed over, several strides and he was in front of his dearest friend.
He chokes on something, reaching to cusp your lifeless face, a peaceful expression holding your features together before he pulls his hand away and takes you into his arms.
He turns around, fully planning on taking his rage out on whoever did this to his lover when Phil's hand rested on his shoulder in the split second he turned. "Kristin sent me a message, they… they left on their own, traded their soul in an exchange."
Phil kept talking.
For the people of L'manburg, you traded your soul. But that wasn't your choice, you hadn't relished the blood that spilt, in the aftermath with smoke filling his senses and all he could see was a crater.
But now all he could feel is the emptiness in his arms, in your stiff body. You were gone.
You had gone and died and you had died alone. The one thing you… the one thing you had told him that scared you. You died alone to pay for his sins.
His knees sink. He hears a scream distantly, not entirely aware of the moment. He couldn't tell if it was him or not.
