*shuffles into support group meeting, sits on squeaky fold-out chair, nervous cough*
"Hi... my name's Val... and I'm a Good Omens addict."
Hey y'all, so this is it, I guess. Me, after four months of late night Ao3 reading marathons, 24/7 podfic blasting through my earphones, and several feverish dreams of the ineffable husbands, finally giving into temptation to post my own fanfic ideas for this wonderful fandom. Good Omens has been incredibly helpful in getting me through one of the toughest period in my life so far, ridden with bouts of panic attacks, mental burnouts, and months-long depression, so it's only right that I give back in some shape or form.
So without further ado, allow me to present my Hunger Games AU, The Famine Games. This AU has been on the back burner of my mind for the last few days now, and I can't wait to start cooking up some more stuff for it! Below are preliminary sketches (made during a particulary long and boring zoom lecture) of my Aziraphale and Crowley characters (known in this universe as Azirian Zaciery Fell and Anthron Jonath Crowlee).
I wanted to change up the names of all the Good Omens characters since the majority of AUs uses the same combination of first and last names, which can, after reading 50+ fanfics, become a tad repetitive (not that it matters much though, I just love coming up with names and creating more non-canon chaos). I'll be taking precedent from typical name structures from the original book series, which I'll have to review since it's been awhile since I last read it.
So the main concept here is that Azirian and Crowlee are from different districts of Panem, District 1 and District 12 respectively. Through one way or another, they both find themselves on the train headed to the Capital on the evening of Reaping Day. Now, facing the trials as tributes and almost certain death in a few weeks, Azirian and Crowlee must find a way to survive the game while not losing themselves in the process (ugh, that was too cheesy, wasn't it? my sincerest apologies).
*Important note: I suck at drawing. No, really, I am just terrible at it. This is a one time exception and it only turned out slightly better than trash because I poured way too much time and attention to it and not enough to my college lecture (the course material is really dry, y'all. i needed my daily fix of aziracrow (told ya im an addict)).
I don't want to give away too much right now since I'll *fingers-crossed* eventually write a fanfic out of this, but stay tuned for more rough sketches and chicken-scratch notes as I continue to develop The Famine Games. Please leave a note to let me know what y'all think! Thoughts, comments, questions, curses, and scolding for bad jokes and writing way too much for a single post are all deeply appreciated! (please leave me a note, i am starved of validation and need to find reason to continue this madness, or else this idea will just get buried at the back of my mind's refrigerator like an expired jar of pickled onions)
Is it working?? Still img under the cut
Dear tumblr: moving your messages to the draft box doesn’t mean erase them. @staff why is this a feature if it can’t be used properly? *baffled*
Good on Mark for helping Wilkie, SK and encouraging others to vote for them for the Kraft Hockeyville contest.
But...Dude, come on...
HOLD THE PHONE UP. THIS IS YOU RIGHT NOW:
AND THIS AIN’T THE FIRST TIME I CAUGHT YOU SLIPPING, SCHEIF!
i just vividly remembered when i was young the time i watched YT videos on 360p or less because i didn't know about the quality button so i was just stuck squinting my eyes trying to read (i was in my gacha era)
then i had an epiphany and finally figured it out and my whole worldview changed and i just get reminded of that a lot sometimes
Huuuuuuu
I hate technology and technology hates me

Honestly it amazing how inept I am with technology. Like I'm from the early 2000s u would think I would be great at it, especially since I had LOTS of unrestricted Internet access.
But, guess who is the tech expert in my family.
My mom, who is in her 50's.
....
I have no clue how to pirate TV shows and movies without getting a shitton of bad things happening. As well as like hiding that I am reading fanfiction from said mom, I just use secret mode.
This isn't like a cry for like someone to teach me the Internet but like...nnnnnnn. this is purely like therapeutic ranting of me not understanding shit lol.
