DJ Technopath AU: Hiro actually does know of his powers! It's how he worked out how the DJ tech worked. He can't put them into his music, and he's not used to using them much, but he does use them sometimes. Else it gets uncomfortable. The only thing he used them for before the DJ thing was using the computer handless while eating. But then he uses them to control the graphics on his helmet.

The only thing he used them for was his computer? Naaawwww, he used them for one other thing before.

Trolling the ever-loving shit out of Tadashi. Making his laptop glitch out when he’s trying to do homework, replacing his entire music library with Spice Girls and the Hamster Dance, making the TV turn on and off when Tadashi’s walking through the room to creep him out, all sorts of stuff.

If anyone asked him, he’d call it practice. And it ends up coming in handy when he becomes a DJ, because he’s had lots of experience with theatrics ;)

Technopath DJ Hiro AU: Hiro only got his powers at 10. He can't put them into the music, and he doesn't really use them often because he's still used to using tech the way it's designed to be used.

Maybe then he doesn’t even really realize he has powers, if they’re still so new and limited. Like, everything he does is subconscious, so he doesn’t even realize he’s pumping people up or doing things with his DJ technology that should technically be impossible because he just assumes that it’s normal. It doesn’t even occur to him that powers were even an option.

Until they start showing up in a BIG way. Maybe as he grows, so do his powers, until one day he accidentally hurts someone with his powers. Some one was being really aggressive towards him as he’s working the tables, and he really wanted the guy to back off. When he loses his temper at the dude, the speakers suddenly let out this HUGE blast of air that knocks the guy clear off his feet and well away from Hiro. Thankfully everyone’s too involved with the music to really notice, but inside his awesome DJ helmet Hiro is sweating bullets because what

Of course, being the little scientist he is, the next step is experimentation. Both with his powers, and how he can use them to help his DJing, because lets face it. He’d TOTALLY use tech powers to put on a better show. Wouldn’t you?

What if technopath DJ Hiro AU. Superpowered people only started popping up recently and are generally feared. Hiro doesn't use his technopath powers much and then he ducks into that club the second time and they mistake him for the DJ but instead of pressing buttons randomly he can use his powers at first until he works it out. Tadashi doesn't realise at first that DJ Technopath (Hiro panicked) is Hiro. Awkward ensures when he realises.

Oh man, I already loved the DJ Hiro AU so much, and this only makes it BETTER. Because what’s better than a DJ? A DJ WITH SUPERPOWERS.

And maybe he learns how to manipulate his powers not through technology but through his music. Like, yeah, he’s a technopath, but he only really knows how to manipulate his sound tech. But the stuff he can do with it. His music becomes quite literally hypnotic if he wants it to. Or use his music to actually pump people up, giving them more energy and stamina. JUST IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES!

I hope ishipitandyoucantstopme sees this and approves :D

Has anyone ever covered a Miss Perigrine's Peculiar Children Au yet? I mean it's like a superpower AU but Peculiar people have to go into hiding lest they be killed by the demonic Wights and their invisible weapons, Hollowghast. People that can shapeshift into birds can manipulate time, invisible people can only be fully invisible if they walk around naked. (Bonus Points if everyone thinks Tadashi is a Normal, but his Peculiar Ability is that he can see Hollowghast while others can't)

Tadashi figures out that the Hollowghast were the ones who killed their parents, so with the help of Emma the fire-controlling peculiar, he heads fakes his death at the SFIT fire so he can go off to fight the Hollowghast without getting Hiro involved. Because if their parents were peculiar, and he’s peculiar, that means Hiro probably is too, and he’d be hunted by the Hollowghast as well.

Surprise, surprise, he’s right. (Either Hiro’s intelligence is his ‘power’ or maybe he’s a technopath. Because who doesn’t love technopath!Hiro?). But it takes him way longer to stop the Wights and the Holloghast than he expected, so he doesn’t get the chance to come home triumphantly to his family.

No, Hiro comes looking for him instead. And he’s pissed.

(But then he gets swept up into the fighting with the Hollowghast, so he doesn’t have time to tear Tadashi a new one, but Tadashi can feel Hiro’s glare on the back of his neck the whole time)

Is it too early for an Age of Ultron AU? I was turning a bunch of them over in my head, and some aren’t AoU so much as Avengers AU/ Crossovers. Can’t decide which ones I like more. 

(And then I got an image of the Hamada bros as the Maximoff twins and just about died of happiness. Somehow in between the doodle above emerged. I’ll post the full version sometime)

Still, I was thinking an AU in which HYDRA kidnap all of the Nerd Squad as young children, turning them into mutant superheroes that later resurface to combat the Avengers.

Tadashi and Hiro disappear after an explosion in their home. It kills their superscientist parents (they were 3 and 10, respectively). and nearly them as well. They’re assumed dead; in reality, Tadashi gets badly injured and Hiro gets off with lots of trauma to show for it. Hiro believes the HYDRA scientists when they say they operated on Tadashi to save his life. It helps that it’s mostly true. Plus, any trauma afterwards (re: waking up without most of his memories) can get attributed to the car wreck. How convenient. 

They do the experiments on Hiro because he’s a genius and he’s there. 

Hiro becomes a technopath. Tadashi becomes Sunfire. He can manipulate flame at will, but suffers a lot of control issues, which is why he has to wear the suit. It helps him prevent his powers from running wild. Even when he’s not in the suit, he wears the gauntlets, which suck heat in and prevent his temperature from fluctuating overmuch. Basically runescratch’s Sunfire. It’s amazing. The above art may actually be fanart for runescratch in disguise, actually. Whichever works. 

Wasabi summons laser blades from his hands. Gogo is a speedster. Honey… uhh… manipulates the chemical makeup of things that she touches? That seems really overpowered. Fred can turn into a dragon-like creature to match the Hulk - he’s considered more “evolved” because he retains more of his humanity. 

Also, all of them may be various form of sociopath. Probably because of their upbringing. For some reason, Tadashi never really loses his humanity. He retains a lot of his original personality, and HYDRA gives him leeway because he and Hiro are with them voluntarily. All they can remember of their childhood, after all, is the STARK label on the missiles that targeted their home. Hiro wants blood, and HYDRA can help them. 

(Was the bombing staged by HYDRA? Who can say?)

When the Avengers attack a prominent HYDRA base, the Hamada brothers surface (against orders) to stop them. Just picture Hiro deactivating the Iron Man suit from the ground and sending Tony plummeting out of the sky. 

“BET YOU DIDN’T SEE THAT COMING, HUH??" 

He’s also listening in on all of their comms, so he knows exactly what’s going on. 

Of course, the Avengers have age, experience, and possibly skill with weaponry on their side. Big Hero 6 gets the jump on them, for sure, but they make a comeback. Hiro gets captured at some point. They make Tadashi and the rest see sense. In the end, after a whole lot of trouble and wrecked buildings, the Nerd Herd decide to try to pursue a normal life. 

They find that normal life as far away as they can. Welcome to the Other Side of the Continent, San Fransokyo. 

Alternatively, all this can happen with just the Hamada Brothers in place of the twins. Heh.

(*SCREAMING AND FLAILING AT ALL OF THE ABOVE*

Oh god, imagine if they can’t have a normal life. They try as hard as they can to just be normal in San Fransokyo - basically it’s one of the few places on the planet where Tadashi can walk around with his gauntlets and no one will look twice - and for a time they manage it. But then some sort of natural disaster happens, or there’s a crime wave, or just something, and they realize that they’re the only ones nearby who can help. So they do. Because even though they’re a wee bit broken and a wee bit messed up by what HYDRA did to them, they still feel obligated to try to be better people after the Avengers helped them see what they were doing wrong.

And thus Big Hero 6 is born. Although the media actually keeps calling them Avengers Junior, which annoys all of them. Except Fred. Fred digs it

And yes, it’s been two months, and this post is mostly spoiler free. I’ll let it pass :P)

Big Hero 6 (Technopath AU)

HEADCANNONS

Hiro has been a technopath since a young age. He showed signs after parents death.

Powers: mentally control technology, mental interface with computers, ‘talk’ with computers, can operate most machinery after one touch, and create inventions and gadgets easily.

The neural cranial transmitter acts in a similar manner of Hiro’s powers. It and other devices like it can interfere with his powers, taking control from him.

Hiro uses his powers to his advantage, messing with his opponents robot so that he’ll win his bot fights. Yeah, he cheats, but  they don’t know that.

Baymax is too complex an A.I. for Hiro to control him (Tadashi did this on purpose). Without Tadashi’s medical chip, it’s another story.

Only Tadashi and Aunt Cass know of Hiro’s powers, the nerd lab finding out after the fire.

The Hamada parents’ death are linked to Krei Tech- files and secrets and databases were attempted to be erased, but nothing is off-limits to Hiro.

Krei Tech was investing in cranial chip implants, Callaghan leading the research (wanting to help amputees and disabled). Abigail was a volunteer, mentally training for the test runs.

Problems with chip arose after successful surgery: too much for user to comprehend, pain after one use and body may reject alien material.

Abigail was declared mentally unstable with no chance of recovery and Callaghan blames Krei. 

During the fire at SFIT, Hiro stopped Tadashi (I need this boy to be alive). Callaghan steals Hiro’s neural cranial transmitter and is presumed missing/dead.

Yokai targets Hiro, interested in his powers and tech (Callaghan would recognize the signs chip implants and its powers), leading to the formation of Big Hero 6 (7?).
