Top 5 favorite marvel villains
No.5-Technovore
Arguably one of iron man's most underrated villains. Technovore is a colony of sentient nanobots that can assimilate and absorb technology. Although they've only made a few comic book appearances, they have a surprising amount of adaptations. I live the various desings they have, it makes them look incredibly menacing and work as a horror-themed villain of sorts(especially given how iron man first fought them on a desrted space station.) That you don't see very often for a superhero like iron man. Their abilities have a lot potential for story ideas and it's a shame they've had so few comic appearances. They honest deserve much more exposure.
No.4-Armadillo
This was honestly a villain that had more depth than I was expecting. Armadillo is a criminal named antonio rodriguez who got turned into a mutant armadillo-human hybrid while working with a mad scientist to save his ill wife. Armadillo is a pretty tragic character all things considered, with most of his crimes being done out of desperation or him lashing out from his misery. I like that often times captain america(armadillo's most frequent adversary) usually is more concerned with trying to reason with him and calm him diwn than just trying ti beat him up and send him to jail. Really is a good showing of cap's compassion. It's also nice to see that armadillo's life has an optimistic future as of now with him finally deciding to stop running from his problems and seek help with his current wife. Plus, I like armadillos and think they make a neat superpower inspo.
No.3-Taskmaster
Now taskmaster is a villain that I wasn't crazy about at first, but over time I actually grew to really appreciate. He's kind of got everuthing I like in a comic book bad guy. Cool design? Check. Creative amd interesting gimmick? Check. Competancy as a legitimate threat to the heroes? Check. Oozing with personality and flair? Check. He just carries this intoxicating "supervillain" energy that makes me love this guy. Plus he's had plenty of really funny lines too.
No.2-Sandman
Now IDK about you, but I love me a good villain-to-hero story, and sandman is honestly one of my favorites. I like how kind of grounded sandman's story is compared to some other supervillains. He's not some rogue god causing chaos among the mortals, or a mad scie tist looking to take over the world. Just just a guy, who went down a bad path in life and became a villain when he gained his powers as a result of it. Speaking of his powers, they have a lot of room for creativity, like when sandman disguised himself as art in a museum to get the drop on spidey. I also like how he still has moral standards and isn't out to acfually hurt anybody. Villains don't all need to do cartoonishly despicable things. And I like seeing him do some self reflection and decide to become a good guy.
No.1-Lizard
The lizard is a very special villain to me. First off, the fact that he's a reptile-themed villain already makes me like him a lot. I also enjoy the kind of tangilibity of his backstory. Because believe or not, reptiles have been studied a lot for medical reasons, so his overall motive of using it for medical purposes (like gila monster venom has been used in a multitude of medical treatments) adds a sense of-and I use this kinda lightly-realism to his character. He also kind of defys the common cliches that are seen in reptile villains, where they are often portrayed as bumbled joke villains *COUGH COUGH* SPINNER *COUGH COUGH* TONGUE STRETCHER *COUGH COUGH* FRANCIS *COUGH COUGH*. While lizard is a villain, he is still a larhely symapthetic and well-meaning character, and he's a legitimate powerhouse too, and one of spidey's tougher foes. It's because of all this that the lizard is my favorite marvel supervillain, and dare I say comic book character.
