After some thinking - I have come to the conclusion that Colin kissing Michael on the pitch was actually in character for Colin! Here’s why:

1) Colin has kept his secret for years remarkably well but he’s not perfect. He mentioned Grindr in the locker room. He kept nudes of male exes on his phone - open to being hacked. He made out with Michael literally 30 feet away from Ola’s. He was lucky Trent was the one who saw them. Because it could have been anyone else - another player, a paparazzi?? Colin has clearly taken risks before.

2) He’s grown. Colin is no longer the shame ridden man hiding in the closet. He’s come out to his team and it has been incredibly beneficial not just to his playing but his confidence. He’s not letting fear dictate him anymore. And that includes his fear of being outed.

3) He’s in love!! It has been at least six months since episode 3. Colin and Michael are obviously more serious now. Based on Colin and Trent’s talk in Amsterdam - it feels like Colin hasn’t been in a serious relationship yet. No one has stuck around until Michael. We know all he’s wanted was to kiss his fella on the pitch. With Michael - that is now a possibility!

In conclusion - Colin is a himbo. A himbo in love who was swept up in the elation of winning the match and made a split decision to kiss the man he loves! He decided to deal with the aftermath of being outed instead of go another moment hiding his love for his boyfriend.

Look. Ted going home is not the choice I would have went with. And Beard and Jane is a no from me. But everything else was so good. Overall I hate series endings. But this gets a solid thumbs up from me.
