Skydance Working on "Ranger's Apprentice" Adaptation
Skydance is developing a feature film adaptation of John Flanagan's Ranger's Apprentice. Ted Melfi will adapt, direct, and produce the film. Other producers include Kim Quinn, and Skydance's David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger. Flanagan will serve as an executive producer on the film.
Teenage orphan Will is apprenticed to the Rangers, a group of highly trained protectors of the Kingdom of Araluen, skilled in both battle and surveillance. However, it appears that the exiled Morgarth, Lord of the Mountains of Rain and Night, is gathering for an attack on Araluen.
