Would Bombay and Coach Orion ever clash in the way one trained the ducks? And would the ducks if they overheard it, side with one over the other?

I could see maybe the ducks siding with Bombay in D3, but I’m not sure they would after or later on. What do you think?

I don't believe they'd clash. Bombay chose Orion, so he trusted him with the team.

Also, you have to take into account that high school hockey is kinda where the real test of skills is. I'd like to think Bombay knew this.

Cause skillwise Bombay only coached preteen and kid hockey. He did play for a bit in the minors and as a kid but that's it.

Where as Orion played professional hockey. So if anyone can take the Ducks to the next level, it's Orion. And I believe Bombay knows this. You can see there's a lot of respect between the two coaches.

Bombay gave them the basic skills, Orion is there to hone them.

Now, if for some reason a clash happened, I could see it being over something insignificant. So the Ducks probably wouldn't take either side. However, again I can't see that happening.

Would any of the ducks ever fail a drug test and if so how would Coach Orion react?

Honestly, I don't think so. We can see that despite their usual jokes about it, the Ducks love playing hockey. They wouldn't continue if they didn't value it.

Also, they are on scholarships at the school. So, for these two reasons, I can not see any of them using drugs. They have probably smuggled some alcohol in and drank, but they were smart enough to do that on the off-season and not drive. Plus, that doesn't stay in the system like drugs do.

If any of them ever did I fully believe Orion would kick them off the team. At least until they got sober. He probably would try to help them but in a tough love sorta way. It'd kinda be like disappointing a parent.

someone has probably said this before but

i have just come to the realization that orion is such an asshole in the beginning of d3 because charlie is the main character of the movie and it is tainted with his vision.

so charlie’s overwhelming angst about bombay leaving tainted his view of orion before he even gave the guy a chance and only after he sorts out whatever internal battles he was having does he (and do we) finally see orion for the actual person he is.
