If Prim had survived Peeta would have been the best brother-in-law ever. I can see him painting her nails with whatever special design or image she wants. Learning to do fancy hairstyles for his little sister. Helping build a pen for the goats she eventually owns.

it kinda bugs me that THG is labeled as "sci-fi". Like what is sci-fi about it? The potato batteries?

Met some fellow THG hyperfixaters yesterday at a cat cafe! I saw that there was a cat named Katniss Everdeen and I asked them which one becuade that’s my favorite series ever. Katniss was sleeping in a little kitty hammock at a window behind the bar and they grabbed her to show her to me. Katniss the Cat is very in character. She was not interested. She went back to her little hammock and went to sleep.

Then comes the best part of this interaction.

I explained to one of the girls working there that THG is my favorite series and I have crazy ADHD and have been hyper fixated on THG for like 2 years and she was like OMG and got the other girl’s attention and pointed to me and said “ADHD hyperfixation!” And the other was like “YEAHHHHHH!”

So we got into a convo about THG. One of them brought up Peeta’s Games and AO3 and Wattpad (of course the AO3 and Wattpad part is the only part my younger brother heard and he was like wtf?) and I said “now you need an orange cat to name Peeta” and they were like “we were just saying that!”

It was so awesome. It felt like meeting tumblr THG people irl.

OMFG. So I found out last night that my roommate/friend commissioned @little-lynx to create a drawing of Peeta that could be turned into a cardboard cutout for my Christmas gift 🥹 she couldn’t find anyone to turn it into a cutout but she has the art I’m so excited I almost cried when she told me 😭

Went to THG On Stage today!!!!

Best peeta other than book peeta imo. The screaming of “BECAUSE I LIKE YOU!!!” Was a lot. But AMPUTEE PEETA REPRESENTATION! (Love how Euan was just spinning the cane around at the end here. I adore him.)

They were trying to play up Gale too much.

I was waiting for “here to finish me off sweetheart?” Or “we’re supposed to be madly in love, so feel free to kiss me whenever you like” but the hand holding was so fucking cute. Especially because Katniss initiated it and asked him “is this okay?”

Rue made me almost cry. And her little dress was darling.

PEETA AGAIN. THE DIALOGUE FROM THE BOOKS. “Tell my mother I tried my best.” Was a little different. But like.

AND THEY MENTIONED HIS BROTHER!

Haymitch was amazing too. Effie saying “And happy birthday, Haymitch.” AND HIM FALLING OFF THE STAGE ROFL

So many people swooned when Peeta came by. (Guilty)

The banter with Caesar? Perfection even if we didn’t have “tell me Caesar, do I still smell like roses?” And that whole bit.

It was weird having Katniss still on stage for the confession. And why did they change the “she came here with me” line to “she’s here with me right now”?

I honestly feel like Euan and Mia had a little more chemistry than Jen and Josh. (I also just love Peeta in the play)

They did spend a lot of time screaming at each other and fighting which was weird. But they had some sweet moments.

It’s hard to fit multiple weeks into an hour, but Katniss and Peeta’s time together lasted about 5 minutes.

The prep team was so goofy in the best way.

AND WE GOT THE VALLEY SONG!!!!!!

And I like how Peeta said Burdock’s name.

Also Peeta sounded like he was from like Boston or something a couple times and it was entertaining.

Mia did amazing as Katniss. It’s a hard character to take on.

But Peeta again. I like that he had a personality. He had anger. Because yeah Peeta is FUCKING PISSED in the books.

It’s always hard when I’m reading a book to remember that yeah these lines that have such an impact take mere seconds to say.

I liked the contrast between the games and the Capitol. Like in the blood bath it switches from fighting to dancing in a line while Caesar talks about who’s dead.

Then when Rue was dying, switching from Katniss singing to Rue to this insane party happening in the Capitol while a 12 year old girl is dying and a 16 year old girl is singing her to sleep for the last time.

AND CAESAR. I loved him.

Why was Cinna so fucking creepy though? He was so opposite to the book.

There was so much. I loved it. So much book dialogue copy pasted in.

I wonder if Katniss or Burdock heard/sang “Pure as the Driven Snow” without knowing who it was about.

If Katniss sings it to her children, not knowing it’s about her tormentor.

If Peeta loves hearing her sing it, not knowing it’s about the man who tortured him into hating the love of his life.

If Burdock sang it to his family, not knowing it was about the man who took his cousin and best friend away.

If Lenore Dove sang it to Haymitch, not knowing it was about the man who would take her life.

I was having thoughts about everlark last night while trying to fall asleep and I was thinking "I should write these down" because I had notebooks right nearby me and a million pens and I was like "nah i'll remember it in the morning"
