TEDxAbidjan was lucky to receive a duo of women called les reines meres. Their message spoke to women and children about the insane amounts of money we spend on hair relaxers. They made people realize that the first step towards being proud of being African is being proud of how you naturally look. "Nappy" hair and all.
TEDxAbidjan definitely isn't lacking in strong women. I'm spending the afternoon sitting beside heads of companies, media moguls and musicians. People are literally on their feet for these exceptional ladies!

About to start the first ever TEDx event in ivory coast. Its definitely starting in a traditional fashion with kids in tribal clothing and ancient instruments. Really cool contrast to the theme of a modern Africa.
