Rethink. Redefine. Recreate.
Guy Kawasaki, is a special advisor to the Motorola business unit of Google. Kawasaki was invited to open the show for TEDXBerkeley at the University of California at the beginning of 2014, and shared his top 10 points of the art of innovation.
His inspiring talk starts off with the desire to make meaning as opposed to make money. Referring to meaning as to change the world, which will in return you will make money. But starting off with the wrong intentions, with the goal of making money first, you won't make meaning and won't change the world and probably will fail.
Guy Kawasaki states that great innovation occurs when you get to the next curve. When you go from telephone to Internet, laser printing to 3D printing, great innovation occurs on the next curve. When we think innovatively, we are able to create better things and keep on pushing the boundaries, not allowing barriers to stop us. Wanting to change the world, and have to have a positive impact on the future generations, constantly shifting how we live.
In general, this concept I feel can be applied to every aspect of life. If us as a society go through humility, kindness and offering help to those who need it. Those who we helps might extend their hand back to help you get where you want to go. Everyone you’ve ever met is trying to do the same exact thing you are. Life is a lot easier when you accept that you aren’t the only one living it.
