HEYhi hello,, i really have no idea where to begin but i hope you dont mind replying.. > im really really interested in this house still dreams and i especially really like bookworm and fall, and i cant help but ask what relations they have with eachother or other characters within the au? (especially lighthouse and bookworm im very curious ..) > second, i did actually draw fanart of fall not too long ago and im quite nervous sending it but i do hope you like it ^_^ the quality might be a little off..,
ok first of all.
OH MY GOD !!! OH MY GOD THIS ART IS AWESOME. HOOOOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ahem. Second of all. I didn't create This House Still Dreams! That would be my lovely friend @superflyghtheart (though they don't use tumblr much lol). And though I play her and have done th ebulk of her characterization, Fall's concept was created by @rapidcolors, so credit where credit is due to both of them!
All that being said, more below the cut for you since you were so nicies and asked so politely. and also this got really, really long.
OKAY SO TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION. First I'll have to back up a little bit ^^' This House Still Dreams is an AU in of itself, but also has a... sub-AU that we use for roleplay. Bookworm, Fall, Lighthouse, and all of those funny guys are only 'canon' to the "Hellchat" version of the AU, since by roleplaying stuff we kind of changed the timeline. Oopsie!
Anyway. To actually answer.
What relations do they have with each other or other characters within the au?
Bookworm is on friendly terms with almost everybody. Or... she was. At the current point in the story, only a handful of toons still know she's alive. Lighthouse was created by Dandy when Bookworm "disappeared" and everyone assumed her dead (this is, in part, why they have nicknames. It's confusing to call them both Brightney). Before her disappearance and replacement, Rodger, Astro, Dazzle, Vee, and Connie were her closest friends, but she generally kept most people at a bit of an arms length even without thinking about it. Friends with everyone, best friends with no-one. Everyone had someone more important to them. After her disappearance, her friendship with Vee sort of... shattered. Vee's the reason she got replaced. She's the one who kicked her out, and asked Dandy to make a new Brightney. Despite this, Brightney still has trouble hating her. They go back and forth on being friends, enemies, hating and loving each other, lying to each other, and baring their hearts. It's very complicated. She still keeps in contact with Rodger, who she's finally opened up to a bit, and Sprout, if not simply to keep tabs on Vee. Ironically, she began talking to Finn after her ousting, because a very similar thing happened to him not long after. They've bonded over both being kicked out of Gardenview, and having to navigate the real world as people on their own. They've grown quite close. She has very, very complicated feelings on Lighthouse. She doesn't hate lighthouse as a person, but her existing, conceptually, is a reminder of 1. how someone she really loved threw her away and tried to replace her, and 2. a living horror story of all her specific fears come to life (losing her memories. Lighthouse was 'born' with none). At first, she thought the kind thing to do was 'put her down', but since Lighthouse has started becoming a person sort of, she's just kind of... "okay fine you can live and ill try and be polite around you even if thinking of you makes me queasy. Okay?" As of writing this post, she's currently working with Lighthouse, Rodger, and Connie on making some big plans without Dandy knowing...

Lighthouse doesn't have many friends. She's so "young", and strange, and had a really bad first week of existing where she kind of thought everyone was some sort of nightmare monster. Imaging waking up with all of your memories being of yourself in a cartoon. This world where its all sunshine and rainbows and kiddy lessons all day. And not remembering anything outside of that. No Delilah, no Arthur, no humans at all(!). Your "Gardenview" in your memory is a collection of houses, not this dark underground maze. Your friends look different than you remember. Taller. Monstrous (Sprout is half-twisted, and meeting Fall and Winter so early on didn't help). Being told this is your home. And oh yeah, there's deadly zombies in the basement, and don't piss Dandy off or he'll kill you. It's normal if you've lived there for 40 years. Not so much when this is your sudden shift in reality. She spent the first, like, month of her existence thinking she was having a nightmare. She was so scared she ended up holing up in Finn's room, because at this point, he was also a bit delusional and was the only one who agreed with her and took her seriously. They weren't very good for each other, though; they fed into each other's delusions. But after some time, and Finn was kicked out... she began to mellow. Their time apart let them both recover from their shared nightmare cycle, and they became actual friends. Rodger, per Bookworm's request, also hung out with her to 'keep an eye on her' but they became pretty good friends. She tries to be friends with everyone else, to varying degrees of success. It's still awkward with Vee. She even begins to make friends with Fall and Winter. Aww!

Fall... oh girl. To begin, I need to explain that most toons fall into 3 main 'categories' in her mind. "Enemies", "Friends", and "Real Friends". Fall came into existence when a Shelly was left behind during panic mode. She didn't instantly die when the elevator closed. She was swallowed whole by Gardenview, buried alive, half-dead, half-twisted, half-remaining. She's been down there for years. Her memories are warped. She doesn't remember who was actually on that run that left her behind. The faces change every time she tries to recall it. But anyone who *could* have been there is never, ever, a Real Friend. Because they left her behind, at some point, didn't they? Thus, "friend" is her biggest category. Most all toons go here. Sprout, though he's the one who saved her and brought her back up, will never be able to rise above it. Because he did leave her behind. There will always be that edge of hostility there, under the surface. That sinking feeling of "you're my friend now, but I thought you were then, too. Will you leave me again?" that can be lessened, but will never go away. Sure, Tisha is her best friend, but she never came to save her. Will she always? What about Finn? Rodger? Toodles? Brightney? They all left her once, and they'll do it again, she just knows it. But she doesn't hold it against them. With Friends, she's friendly! Until she isn't. Her headspace is unstable, pushed just the right way and her desire for attention will go from "im being so nice for positive attention" to "fine. you'll pay attention to me when I bite your fingers off, huh?" with little prodding. "Real Friend" is both 1. someone who could not have left her behind when she twisted, and 2. is kind to her. Bassie and Winter are some of the only toons who fall under this category, only because Bassie wasn't awake during autumn when Fall got twisted, and Winter was 'stuck down there with her' (even if he's technically younger and came from a sprout who did, she doesn't see it that way). These are toons she wouldn't attack even if fully twisted, or if she did, it would not be out of the same malice she'd have with the others. She sees them as fully on her side, and can't conceptualize they might not be. And then, of course, there's Enemies. Toons who have wronged her or 'left her' again even after she came back up to the surface. Dandy and Dyle have earned this spot because of Winter's influence (He doesn't like/trust them, and he's a Real Friend, so neither does she. #allies). And then... Vee. She never liked Vee, and then Vee did a lot of stuff that hurt Winter (cough) and she "left behind" bookworm, and though neither of those were directly aimed at Fall, Fall took them personally. She fucking Hates Vee. Badly. Like. "wants to bite off her head" kind of hate. She likes Lighthouse the same way she likes Sprout. A close Friend, but not a Real Friend.
ANYWHO sorry this got long!!! I hope it answers your question though ^^'
