favorite fic you wrote this year

Setting aside lavender moon because it is my baby and I love it... Man, it is still hard to choose between a few, hahaha. I will go with To the End of the World because I think it gets less love than some of my other hits this year (and because I got to write my AraRose agenda, hahaha).

14. a fic you didn't expect to write

Oh so many of them, but I'll highlight venus, planet of love, was destroyed by global warming because I wrote it as a pinch hit on a bonkers timeline and it is among the top 10 longest fic I've ever written. (It was in the top 5, but then I kept writing stuff, hahaha.)

25. a fic you read this year you would recommend everyone read

I am going to cheat and direct people to my fic recs page, because that's... well, simply a better way for me to recommend people fic as a multifandom creator/blogger, lol. Not all of these are from this year, but many of them are, so I feel like that counts.

CTheir Self Esteem

Well, academy Ivanya has always been comfortably self-assured. Sure she probably thinks highly of herself, but that’s better than the alternative. Noir Ivanya, on the other hand, had spent her formative years both benefitting from being a high class woman in a hierarchal misandrist society, while also suffering the effects of Living In the Underground.

TLDR; Noir Ivanya flirts the edges of both narcissism and self-loathing, and it’s a fucking rollercoaster.

What did you imagine they’d be like at the beginning of the rp? how did they develop differently during the course of the rp?

I thought Ivanya would be cooler. But instead she’s more. Real? You know, more dynamic, she has her cool moments, but she has her dorkier moments more. She’s sweeter, her lore is deeper, she’s both more emotional and more level-headed? 

She’s become a sort of voice of reason, that I would like to carry into noir. Especially since the kids don’t very much listen to reason.

SECRET: Things they’ll never admit

Soap will never admit even to themselves that they want to be A Girl. that one is gonna take AGES and probably a lot of therapy to get out of them. they think girls are cool so they dont think theyre allowed to be one

BLOOD: How important is family to your muse? 

Soap thinks family is VERY important. the biggest reason soap wanted to come to wollstonecraft is because they wanted to try and figure out more about their origins. Soap has always felt super displaced never having any kind of family, and until coming to wollstonecraft didnt know anyone who had No blood relatives and saw it as another aspect of themselves that was fundamentally wrong.

TRIAL: Hardest thing about writing the muse? 

The hard part here is trying to get information across about the more serious aspect of their backstory because they don’t like to acknowledge any of their negative feelings. I intentionally didn’t give soap a vent blog because there was absolutely no way they’d ever have one. There’s also a lot of information regarding the origin of the parasite that I think is very informative about soap but since this is information that Soap as a character doesnt know, it’s impossible for me to let this trickle out at all yet until I can think of a way to soap to learn it. A lot of soap as a character is based in isolating themselves and being isolated from themselves, so it’s hard to get a steady footing some times

It had taken no less than three episodes of Brooklyn 99, George of the Jungle, Night at the Museum 2, Sleepless in Seattle, Homeward Bound, and, of course, In Which Two Young Lowblood Recruits Meet Under Professional Circumstances, Experience the First Stirrings of an Ill-advised Pale Attraction, Discuss the Nature of Romance and Find They Hold Mutually Incompatible Belief Systems Regarding Serendipity–Namely, That He Believes in It, and She Does Not–and, Unsurprisingly, Fall for Each Other Regardless, Flip Flushed, Experience Jealousy, and Self-Destruct After a Mere Quarter Sweep Followed by Another Interminable Period of the Male Yellowblood Making an Ass of Himself in Desperation Only for the Female Rustblood to Hook Up Red with Someone Else and Admit That Love Is Real, Just Not with Him, Sorry… or, as Dave interjected, Troll Fuckin’ 500 Days of Summer, Jesus–but Karkat was frowning and soft in sleep with a near-inaudible whistle-snore, like the universe’s biggest, most important cat, and Jade proved once and for all, with control over the remote as the stakes of their no-sleep bet, that she would never miss a thing again.

Stripe I am having so much fun, I was not expecting it to be this funny. Reigen just as a character is amazingly funny.

Also the art!!!! the way it changes so much!!! the cool things they do with the oil painting and pencil styles!!!!! I am filled with inspiration

Real fun paper doll art collab with some people from my writing group! They drew the bodies/faces/etc/ and I drew all the outfits to make them a funky fresh DnD adventuring party!
