The Dracula Daily Scarf

I may be a month late, but I finally finished my scarf! This is the second Dracula Daily scarf I've completed, and definitely the longest: I used bigger yarn, and included the days with no update, represented by every black row. This monster is a little over 11 feet long, and 7 inches wide. Laid side to side, it's the perfect size for a rug!

I'm considering making knitting kits for next year's participants, that way if you order a kit you don't have to spend a ton of time reordering Seward's color, or buying whole balls of yarn for people who don't talk much *cough cough* Quincy- *cough cough*

August roundup!

Started out like a normal winter month - all low 20’s. Then a couple of warmer days over the next couple of weeks. Ended winter with a week of summer temps. Still got a couple of warm days left and then it’s meant to cool down again for probably a couple of weeks (if we’re lucky)

The lowest high temp was 28C with the highest being 35C. I wasn’t expecting to have to dig the summer colours out from the bottom of the project bag for at least another month or so. It’s weird seeing my hottest extreme colour so close to the lowest extreme colour

god i really hope that somewhere out there in the infinite world is a grandma who's been making temperature blankets/scarves every year since the 60s and is looking at them all together going 'huh'

Off we go again!!

Completely different colour scheme from last year, and a simpler pattern with chunkier yarn because I'm matching with my dad! We've split the balls of yarn in half :D so we'll be able to see how different the temperature is when I'm away at university!

I’m going to learn to crochet! I’ve done the basics as a child, but in early January I was admiring people’s temperature scarves and blankets on Twitter, and I decided it’s a great way to learn. Crochet a row a day, with lots of practice at changing colours. Watch this space…

Day 11 - High temp scarf on the top, low temp scarf on the bottom. The lows have been quite low, as you can see

Today's high was 39˚. The low was -1˚. A difference of 40˚.
