this is a solid summary of what is happening in our country right now - there are protests and demonstrations globally organised by diaspora and in solidarity. this is huge, bigger than what most press coverage can accurately convey.
beyond that, the greek police force are known to be hair trigger violet. everyone out in greek cities marching today is risking their health in turning up and they are acutely aware of this.
i know this is nothing compared to big news coming out of places like America at the moment, and that's why most of it has gone under the global radar. my hope is that this catches your attention for just long enough.

In her voice echo the last moments of 57 people. Innocent, all going home to their families. People whose last messages to their loved ones was "I'll call you when I get there." And they never did. They didn't get to kiss their mom's goodbye, get hugged by their fathers when they got home. That morning, some kitchens were devoid of parents making their kids' breakfast. Some dogs never got to wag their tails at the jingle of keys at the door, because simply some people never got to return to their homes.
The devoted say that Heaven gained 57 Angels that night, but I hate to say that 57 empty caskets were returned to the Earth.
Bodies covered in concrete, in the attempted cover-up that took years to be revealed.
We don't forget we don't forgive.
