🕉 🚩 ⚜️♣️⠀ ⠀ Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Kalupur  is the first Temple of the Swaminarayan Sampraday, a Hindu sect. ⠀ ⠀ It is located in Kalupur area of Ahmedabad, the largest city in Gujarat, India. It was built on the instructions of Swaminarayan, the founder of the sect.⠀ ⠀ A British officer, Dunlop was so impressed with activities of Swaminarayan and his followers, that on behalf of the government he gave 5,000 acres of land in Kalupur area of Ahmedabad to build this temple. When the temple was completed, the officer was so impressed by the temple that he commanded a 101 gun salute to the temple.⠀ ⠀ When the British government wanted to build a railway station in Kalupur, the temple returned part of the land, where Kalupur Railway Station stands today. The government compensated the temple by granting it 1,000 acres of land in the Narayannagar village. Although the temple had very good relations with the British government, part of the wooden carvings in the temple depict the 1857 uprising, which is often referred to as India's first war of Independence.⠀ ⠀ With its architecture based on Burma teak wood, every coloured arch and bracket is a bright different shade, something that stands out in most Swaminarayan temples. According to Anjali Desai, author of India Guide Gujarat, the temple resembles a fairytale with all its colours and opulent carvings that profusely embellish every wooden bracket, column and arch. The temple attracts a million people on the day after Diwali. A giant 108-feet-high idol of Hanuman was unveiled at Jakhoo Hanuman temple on 4 November 2010. At 108 feet (33 m), it surpasses the statue of Christ the Redeemer, which measures at 98 feet (30 m), in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The cost of construction was Rs 1.5 crores. 🕉 🚩🚩🏰⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ The Sanctuary of Truth  is an unfinished Hindu-Buddhist temple and museum in Pattaya, Thailand. ⠀ ⠀ Designed by the Thai businessman Lek Viriyaphan in the Ayutthaya Style, the building is notably constructed entirely out of wood, specifically Mai Deang, Mai Takien, Mai Panchart and Teak, and contains only wood-carved idols and sculptures. Construction first began on the Sanctuary of Truth in 1981 and continues as of 2020, though visitors are permitted inside with hard hats. Located on 13 hectares of land, the temple houses an internal space of 2,115 m2, with the tallest spire reaching to 105 m. ⠀ ⠀ The Sanctuary features a four-faced Brahma statue on its rooftop. The Northern hall features Guanyin and other sculptures. The Southern hall features astronomical themes, namely the sun, moon, and planets, in addition to sculptures of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. The Western hall features representations of the five elements. The Eastern hall features familial representations. The wooden Sanctuary is over 💯 meters tall and makes for an impressive sight against the backdrop of the Gulf of Thailand. ⠀ ⠀ The sanctuary is best described as a monument to Thai craftsmanship, with its stunningly detailed carvings of elephants, people and scenes, creatures and deities from mythology. However, Lord Ganesh and Lord Vishnu tricked him into putting the Linga on the ground, post which it got attached and was rendered immovable. 🕉 🚩 🏰 ⁣ ⁣ The Venugopala Swamy Temple located at Hosa Kannambadi, near Krishna Raja Sagara, is an example of Hoysala architecture in Karnataka, India. This temple was built in the 12th century AD around the same time as the Chennakesava Temple at Somanathapura, Mysore district.⁣ ⁣ Before the Krishna Raja Sagara dam project was conceived by Sir M.Visvesvaraya in 1909, the temple complex was located in the village of Kannambadi. The KRS Dam project meant that Kannambadi and other surrounding settlements would be submerged. The then king of Mysore, Krishna Raja Wadiyar IV ordered the construction of a new village for the residents of Kannambadiand aptly named it Hosa Kannambadi (New Kannambadi).⁣ ⁣ However, the Venugopala Swamy temple complex and 2 other temples namely Kenneshwara (Ishwara) temple and Kalamma (A local deity) temple had to be abandoned. By 1930, the first phase of the dam was completed and all three temples were submerged.⁣ ⁣ The main idol of Venugopalaswamy, Lord Krishna playing on flute as a cow-herd, was shifted to a new temple in the rehabilitated village before the submersion.⁣ ⁣ The in-house architects of the group had shot the original temple on video, taken over 16,000 photographs, and marked each and every slab used in the construction of the original temple. Each and every temple stone was removed and reconstructed at Hosa Kannambadi with trained artisans and sculptors, with half a dozen experts from Tamil Nadu also involved in the reconstruction.⁣ ⁣ As of December 2011, the temple restoration has been completed, but is awaiting an official inauguration.
