Fey Channeling Headcanons

Ok I’ve had this in my head for a loooooong time and I’ve finally decided to put it in writing. this is going to contain MAJOR SPOILERS for both Ghost trick and Ace attorney- don’t read this unless you know the full extent of what happens in AA 1-3 and GT please! Its gonna be long so under the cut it goes

I think that Magatamas are made of a rock that has similar, if not the same properties as the temsic fragment. I think that this is why they are considered such an essential part of spirit channeling- and why fey ghosts tend to be stronger than others. While a talented, aged medium like Misty might have enough time around her magatama to use it’s powers without wearing it like we see in bridge to the turnabout, younger mediums like Maya talk about them ass essential. In fact, I think even Phoenix makes use of it- the Psyche Locks being a very unique form of Ghost tricks. I think that essentially, the medium calls the spirit through practice, and by entering the ghost realm and simply thinking for them, as thoughts can be projected quite far in the ghost realm. They say that  a medium’s spirit leaves their body and I do not think this is metaphorical, in fact I believe that they, using the Magatama’s powers, jump to another core ((possibly why there are so many candles in the room, to have guaranteed cores?)) and allow the spirit they are calling to use the core of the Magatama to enter their body, manipulator style. I think Magatamas, since they’re not just some random meteor, are actually specially crafted by elder members of the village to give manipulator powers and manipulator powers only, and to give off the aura to anyone that enters the medium’s magatama core, even if they then lost them after leaving. I believe that the mediums, not being properly dead, only have temporary powers, and that is why they black out instead of experiencing the ghost realm in all its glory. I also believe that once the spirit leaves the body, not being dead, creates a pull towards the spirit which is how they know to instinctively jump back to their own core and assume their life again.

I’d love to hear comments or cirtique, esp if i missed or mixed something up!!
