Terminal Data — Helios, the Radiant King
[ 48 y/o — 198cm — 8,6 tonne ]
A middle-aged man allegedly from the remote islets in Okeanos. Although his rule was supposed to only extend until the Oort barrier, he was the only one who remained awake during the Great Blackout, and took it upon himself to reform Tartarus. He became its ruler, just and beloved by many.

hi, i just wanted to pop in to confirm that AI was not used for teo's first fight. this tweet is from tsujimoto, the special effects director for teo.
i did use machine translation to read the tweet but my understanding is that for this shot, a 360 camera was used. the city miniatures and suit actors were shot separately. then camera footage was composited together so i think that's were the uncanniness came from?
oh dang thank you!! i did actually read about this earlier and was relieved to know that there wasn’t any AI used. reading about how much work they actually put into those composite shots makes me appreciate the fight more, at least in terms of the amount of effort they put in. i did also wonder about how they were able to put the sky and buildings in the background and stuff, because it looked incredibly realistic and very distinctly Not Toku Effects. but yeah thanks for sharing this info!!
thoughts on ultraman teo episode 1
a bit mixed but overall enjoyed it. i really like ibuki, i think he’s painfully awkward in a genuine and endearing way and i really hope he makes friends. i’m sorry about your planet :((
the fight felt… strange. there was an uncanny tone to it throughout the fight that i couldn’t quite shake. the kaiju design was really fun and cool, and i liked seeing teo trying to get used to his new powers. but there were some movements that felt really… weird? and there were times i couldn’t tell if the footage was in-suit or cgi or a secret third thing that i’m really hoping they didn’t use :/
regardless i enjoyed it and i can’t wait to see more next week!!
ibuki is SO bad at hiding his identity i love you boyfail
"Mankind is dead, but the Voyagers will continue to live on, carrying the memories of a world that is no more."
"Tartarus was not always the barren wasteland that it is now. Years prior to the departure of humans, they created a 'token' of their existence; a more primitive, synthetic lifeform that could last an eternity, as a reminder of what once was a prosperous world. Named after their forefathers which served a similar purpose, Rovers were made to observe and maintain the lowest layer of their world."
hey there! welcome to the OZ tumblr blog that i will update once in a blue moon . i also kinda needed a place to archive art with tags so umm uhhh hiii . i hope you enjoy your stay here! there will be 4 mods here; Teo, Rosie, Carl, and Schoko — i (Teo) mostly work on the art related stuff so ill be the one posting frequently here!
fair warning that while i do try to keep things lighthearted here, take note that there will often be depictions of mainly violence and mechanical gore, discussions about trauma, death and the like, and a lot of religious themes. (the last one is one of the main driving plot point, to be fair...) posts will be tagged with content warnings if neccessary of course!
while youre at it why not check out @the-blackhole-discord ? hosts the most active mwf discord that i know with lots of awesome people and equally awesome activities ! see you there !!
there will be content under the cut here soon
