It’s been a hot-hot minute since I’ve posted here but I wanted to make sure people know that I still got love for Tumblr! Speaking of love, I had a GREAT time at AfroPunk this weekend! It was a wonderful experience seeing so much positivity and love for art and music on Saturday and Sunday. It was my first time attending and I was really overwhelmed by the love felt for both Part Time Shuffle as well as Tephlon Funk! I have more photos to show but I wanted to just make a quick post to give a shoutout to everyone I met over the weekend! More to come!

Here Are Three Black-Produced Animated Projects You Should Know About
Black representation in animation is scarce which sucks but that doesn’t mean producers aren’t trying. In these constantly volatile times where the leader of the free world is constantly judging books by their covers, it’s important to remember the guys that are trying their damnedest to lean forward and make a difference in the adult animation industry. Fat Jon - What Went Wrong
Hey everyone, I’ve got two amazing announcements today! First things first, I’m pleased to announce that the awesomely talented hip-hop producer Fat Jon who collaborated with the legendary Nujabes on the soundtrack of Samurai Champloo has created conceptual tracks for the Kickstarter funded comic series, Tephlon Funk! I had pleasure of listening to this soundtrack prior to its release and I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing it is! The soundtrack is available NOW at www.tephlonfunk.com/shop. The best news of all here is that it’s ABSOLUTELY FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grab it as soon as you can, you will NOT regret it! Secondly, I’ve joined the Tephlon Funk Team as a Storyboard Artist/Background Layout Design. I can’t go into too much of what that is for specifically at this time but...stay tuned :) It’s pretty dope...see what I did there? Definitely, more to come!

TEPHLON FUNK! IS “THE DOPEST”… EXCEPT FOR ONE THING
If the name “Tephlon Funk” truly means both the strength to overcome obstacles and the ability to stand out from a crowd as the creators suggest, then you’d be hard pressed to find a more aptly named franchise. Like its spiritual predecessors Samurai Champlooand The Boondocks, Tephlon Funk!‘s blend of hip hop culture with anime aesthetics has effortlessly captured the attention of anyone within the radius of Black and nerd intersections, and with good reason. Boasting both a strong fanbase starting from the inception of its Kickstarter and an artistic style replete with homage yet distinct all its own, you could argue that the work produced by trio Stephane Metayer, David Tako, and Nicolas Safe is well on its way to cementing itself as not only of the Blackest manga of all time, but one of the best of that list. Of course, that’s only if Tephlon Funk! can address some noticeable trends with its women characters.
