Calling Sakura had been the easy part of Shikamaru’s day. Before he could say much of anything, she had already asked if he had learned if Sasuke was cheating on her. It was nice to say “no” for once. He did tell her that he was still working the case, and asked her to see if she could find out what Sasuke had been up to at the office. Shikamaru’s interest laid in checking the files Sasuke pulled and seeing if any of those stood out, all starting at that magical couple month mark. She said she would let him know what she found.

Now came the hard part.

I have a prompt for you!! How about Temari telling Shikamaru and Shikadai that she's pregnant again?? I hope this is okay :)

 She was completely shocked. She was speechless, but she knew for sure she was surprised.  Temari didn’t really expect to have another child, but nor did she expect to have Shikadai but somehow that was completely different. Although he wasn’t exactly planned she knew they would have  children. She wasn’t exactly a child lover back then but know, she could feel excitement tingled beneath her skin. Having Shikadai was one of the best things she’s done with her life. To bring a child into the world was something to behold and to watch him as he grows is something unexplainable. But to have another made her feel as if she was on cloud nine. There are infinite possibilities for it. It could look like Shikamaru or her. It could be a boy or girl. As she thought of the variations of him or her in this child another slightly scarier thought popped into her head.

  How was she going to tell 9 year old Shikadai. Nightfall was coming quickly as she entered the room. She thought of a strategy, she was a ninja after all. Her face was a little to warm for her liking, her body a little too fidgety, she couldn’t seem to focus. She has Shikadai, which kinda changed her old strategy of just saying it while Shikamaru was half asleep and pretending to go to sleep. That didn’t stop Shikamaru from whimpering like a puppy dog which she stills holds over his head.

The dinner was filled with Shikadai talking about his day at the academy. One day, he will not only have a sibling but will be a ninja. He’ll be a big brother and she couldn’t say she was just gaining weight so she’d have to tell them sooner rather than latter. So she’d tell them tonight. Her mouth opened and nothing seemed to come out. She was being strange, not like her normal self. She was growing a child inside of her after all. She wasn’t her normal self. She felt as if she was changing into something else. As if she would be a home for it until it saw the world. But, until then she would have to tell her child and husband.

“I’m pregnant,” she  finally said stoically as she dropped her chopsticks. She did it. Finally. They turned their heads and looked at her as Shikadai whispered, “Troublesome.”
