i'm rewatching the first episode of bridon arc and this whole scene makes me want to scream.

imagine you're cheng xiaoshi. you have abandonment issues due to your parents mysteriously leaving you as a small child. one day you meet a boy, and in his eyes you see the same secrets your parents kept from you. he's kind and good, but he's hiding something, and you're afraid it will take him away from you the same way it took your parents.

and you're cheng xiaoshi, so you can't be upfront and honest about these fears, and you have to mask your vulnerability with jokes. but he doesn't treat it like a joke. he says i won't disappear. he says i can use these powers for you. he says i can't promise forever, but i'll stay here as long as i can.

anyway, they make me ill.

When I’m feeling emotional about him (which happens a lot) I think a lot about how he handles the expectations some of his supporters have on him.

I know he obviously have bigger things to worry about - but I sometimes think about if it ever effects him negatively to have people put the expectation on him being a hero - especially knowing how some people reacted when the EED discussion became public.

Knowing how he put pressure on himself/had high expectations from his family his whole life - it makes me think he’s always had a lot of his self worth tied up in performance.

I hope he knows there’s a lot of unconditional love and support for him out here too 💔

I had that username for YEARS, and I’m genuinely surprised that hasn’t been brought to my attention before. I think that because there is so much hate around, and more people feeling empowered by it, it’s more important to look out for each other (especially as marginalized peoples).

I’m grateful that you felt comfortable enough letting me know. And yeah, your ask didn’t me feel good, but I needed to know about that, and now I can do better moving forward. Thank you for that! ^-^

My heart sank as I read your ask! No, my username was not made with any intention to nazis. It is reference for a ship in a show I used to watch called RWBY. The ship contains two characters called Blake Belladonna and Sun Wukong. The ship has no connection to nazism either!

I never knew of that association. I’m sorry if my username made you (and anyone else) uncomfortable. I always try to be as inclusive and open minded to the best of my abilities. I will change my username to something (hopefully) similar, so it is not as jarring. Thank you so much for educating me, kind anon! ❤️

I see people discussing why we shouldn't misuse psychosis or delusion, particularly when it comes to AI, but something I never see mentioned, which really should be among them, is "word salad."

I don't know how often I've heard something described as "AI-generated word salad" in the past couple of years, but did you know! Word salad is an actual schizospec symptom and not something AI can do?

Word salad, which is also known as schizophasia, is a thought disorder seen in mental illnesses like schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar mania, or advanced dementia. It stems from a disruption in the brain's ability to process language and organize thoughts logically. As a result, what the speaker says may follow some grammatical rules, but they are semantically meaningless to the listener. The speaker is usually unaware that they are not making sense to others, but not always (I sometimes know).

In other words: this is a real human thing AI can't do! Just like the phrases "delulu," "narcissistic," "psycho," and others, unless you know what you are saying, please remove this from your vocabulary. Thank you!

What the fuck happens that changes these stats to such a massive degree?

1) schizophrenia hardly ever causes people to be violent so schizophrenic people aren’t more likely to be violent than anyone else

2) schizophrenic people’s autonomy is often taken away from them because of their schizophrenia. because the authorities and mental healthcare providers often automatically assume schizophrenic people to be violent, they’re more likely to immediately react to schizophrenic people's symptoms with violence, without even knowing for sure said schizophrenic person was going to be violent. all of this causes schizophrenic people to be more likely of being victims of violence and abuse. schizophrenic people also have a harder time getting out of abusive households because of the risk of their autonomy being taken away. if a schizophrenic person’s relative or partner is abusive, often the schizophrenic person has no way out of the situation, both because our disconnect from reality can result in us being easier to manipulate, and because the system is built in a way that it takes away our autonomy because of our condition.
