The Litchfield Parks Magnetic Termite Mounds.
Peering into a termite sky-rise. Unfortunately, the little fellas live in a nest way down below. It's still not fully understood why they build such impressively tall mounds. But recent studies show the profound effect it has on controlling the nest's heat, humidity and ventilation. Without power, it effectively exchanges CO2 for oxygen and even loses heat faster at night than it gains during the day... Something we still haven't figured out how to do with our own buildings. #feelingbikeurious #cycleafrica #termitemounds https://www.instagram.com/p/Bm3YLZSBtO_/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=16g4qmz1n2dqa
