Seems like I'm good at coming up with random little ideas every once in a while lately. I don't know if there will be a sequel to this, maybe. It would fit. And this time we have some Toruka along with Teroki.
"You're totally in love." Hiroki blinked at this unexpected statement but his older brother seemed totally unfazed by his surprise. They met at Taka's place once in a while for breakfast and to catch up on the things going on in each others lives but they had just been talking about the upcoming gig for MY FIRST STORY the next evening and this change of topics seriously threw the younger vocalist off.
"Why would you...How...What??", Hiro stuttered, still not able to comprehend what was going on and stared at his brother with wide, confused eyes. Okay, his cheeks and the tips of his ears might have heated up a little, just like his heartbeat picked up a quicker pace but still...what was going on here?!
"Teruki.", Taka stated in a matter-of-fact kind of voice and took another bite from his bun, shrugging nonchalantly and now the younger's cheeks definitely heated up. He didn't do or say anything to cause his brother to come up with such a conclusion so he was taken aback by the conviction playing along the uttered words.
"And why would you think that?", he asked, not willing to just give in and admit that Taka hit it spot-on. This was way too creepy to admit it was correct. He tried his best to hide his feelings and not let them show in front of anyone so how could, of all persons, his brother have detected anything when they didn't even see each other on a regular weekly basis? The older snorted softly and simply raised a hand to point at Toru, who was sitting at the chair next to him, focused on some article in the newspaper while sipping his coffee without paying attention to them.
"Just because you have a thing for weird guitarists doesn't mean I'm the same. You want to tell me this runs in the family now?" Hiroki huffed with a frown and now that he thought about it, maybe it did kinda run in the family? At least for him and Taka. Because in certain ways they were quite similar when it came down to their taste - at least with food, music, clothing and such. Taka and Toru had been an item for almost two years now but in front of others and especially in public they usually acted like just best friends. Technically they were still best friends but also quite a lot more than that. Sometimes even Hiro actually forgot about this 'more than that' and ended up being startled by a sudden exchange of kisses or the way the two older males touched, interacted with each other in a way that was slightly different from 'just friends' when you looked close enough. It was something that had developed gradually and no one could tell since when they crossed the line from friendship to lovers. Hell, even they couldn't tell. No one ever questioned it, though, because it felt strangely right and like something that had been bound to happen since forever. And if Hiro were to be honest, a small part of him was envious of what his older brother had with Toru because it seemed so harmonic and right and just sickeningly perfect. Sure, he was probably the one most happy for Taka but he wished for something like this to happen in his own life. Especially because he was honestly in the very same position of being in love with his best friend who seemed completely oblivious.
"I don't think it's the instrument's fault. Even though I've got to admit playing the guitar can look pretty sexy deepening on the person." Taka wiggled his eyebrows with a mischievous grin tugging at his full lips. His younger brother barely managed to suppress the urge to nod but he agreed mentally on this statement because certain people totally looked sexy playing the guitar, especially on stage where it was hot and they were sweaty, hair and clothes clinging to their handsome body, slightly parted lips, droplets of sweat trickling down the heated skin of the neck...Yeah, Hiroki definitely had quite the problem there.
"I hate you...", he mumbled and caused Taka to burst out laughing, pointing a triumphant finger at him with a wide grin.
"I knew it! I count that as an affirmation!! You're head over heels for him, right?" He usually looked up to his big brother, thought of him as cool and some kind of role model but sometimes Hiro felt this strong urge to kick the older.
"It doesn't matter." It was just a faint mumble and Hiro's shoulders slumped a little when he breathed out a low sigh before he reached out to grab his cup and down the last bit of tea that had already cooled down by now. He wanted a relaxed and happy breakfast with Taka and his lover, not be reminded of his non-existent love life and the stupid crush he had on his best friend for years already.
"It does. Of course it does! You should talk to him. He's your best friend and I'm sure he'll understand. And who knows, maybe it's not even one-sided." Taka smiled encouragingly at his brother and gently ruffled his blonde hair, getting a sound of protest in return and a playful slap on his lower arm.
"I highly doubt it. Besides the fact that this guy is completely oblivious to my feelings for him, he's only ever been with girls and I doubt someone like him would ever consider someone like me. I don't want to make things between us awkward by telling him. It's better to keep it a secret and wait for the feelings to pass." Hiroki sighted before flashing a tiny grin and then got up from his chair.
"It's getting late and we've got another short practice and stuff do discuss for tomorrow's concert so I should get going.", he announced and this time it was Taka's turn to sigh, causing Toru to finally look up from the newspaper and lift an eyebrow at his lover. The vocalist only gave his shoulder a gentle slap before getting up as well to see his brother to the door.
"At least consider it, okay? I was certain for my feelings to be one-sided as well but see where I am now. Two years and still not tired of this silly face.", Taka exclaimed and a chuckle escaped his lips when slender fingers grabbed the nape of his neck, squeezing it gently and a low kind of grumble could be heard from behind - of course Toru knew this had been about him. Hiroki gave both of them a short hug before saying his goodbyes and promised to text his brother later before he left to head straight for his band's rehearsal room where they were appointed to meet in about half an hour. Still enough time to get his mind off the previous discussion with Taka because he definitely didn't want this stuck in his head when he had to spend several hours in one room with his current 'love interest'. There was no way it would ever become anything more than that.
