My Car Stereo Radio Presets

I’m probably one of the few people left who still listens to the radio as much as they listen to their iPod in the car.  I mean old school terrestrial radio. So for no reason, here are the stations I have as my six FM presets:

1. 90.7 WWOZ - Jazz and New Orleans heritage station.

2. 91.5 WTUL - Tulane University. Typical college radio format.

3. 92.9 W225CZ “Hot 92.9″ - Classic R&B and hip-hop. This station is like Vaporwave Source Material: The Station. Some crossover hits, but mostly things you never would’ve heard unless you were listening to R&B stations in the 70s, 80s, and early 90s.

4. 94.3 WTIX - Oldies, with a slight focus on local/regional hits. 50s, 60s, 70s, early 80s.

5. 95.7 WKUB “Bayou 95.7″ - Classic rock. I’ve heard all of these songs billions of times and I’m sick to death of them, so this station is sort of a last resort when nothing else is on.

6. 103.3 WRQQ “Classic Hits 103.3″ - Hits from the late 70s to the early 90s.

Keep in mind that radio in this region is a wasteland of country stations, religious stations, and Clear Channel Top 40 mediocrity, so it’s slim pickings down here. I’d love to replace some of these stations with better ones, but better ones just don’t exist in New Orleans.
