Disney: No gay stuff
Terri Minsky:
Andi Mack was actually crazy for playing Born This Way by Lady Gaga and having it be the episode the first gay couple became endgame on Disney Channel. Truly iconic. Thank you for fighting for this, Terri Minsky. Thank you.
currently watching tyrus edits from 2018, when i was 15 and a sophomore in highschool. it is 2025. i am turning 22 this year and in my last year of university. it's so crazy how much andi mack changed my life. i fear i remember it all too well 😩
watching the promos. the LookBack™️. joshua rush's tumblr. TJ and cyrus always making top ten of the fandom ships list. smurfvlogs. cyrus using the word "gay" ON DISNEY CHANNEL. stanning and unstanning lester withing MINUTES. tyrus being just a crackship. the kippen twins. TJ's playlist. lemon boy. the b[redacted]h scene.
it was such a wild time and i'm so thankful i got to be a part of it. i don't know if i'll ever find that again with any f[riend]andom 💟

AND I CRIED
I CRIED
SO MANY TEARS I CRIED
Every time I remember that Terri Minskey made TJ have dyscalculia I get so emotional. I watched that show as a college student and still cried when he said that he was struggling with it because it was the first time I had ever seen it represented in a kids show. I had seen dyslexia shown in shows before, but never this specific version dyslexia. I was treated like I just wasn’t trying in school, when really I couldn’t tell some of the numbers apart or I switched them around. I really wish I could have seen that as a child. I remember always thinking my brain was just broken and that I was stupid. I wasn’t diagnosed with it until senior year of high school, so I never got to get the help I needed. If I had a show like Andi Mack as a child I would have felt so much more normal and maybe I would have known what was wrong so I could have gotten help. This is why representation fucking matters.
