Alright after watching season 3 of good omens. Here are my thoughts...
Well and this of course as my astute viewers know, is Magrat Garlic (Magrat Knobloch in german). I painted that mini for the birthday of my mother, who is a true Terry Pratchett fan. She especially loves the three witches and their stories.
This mini was made by "Micro Art Studios" (https://shop.microartstudio.com/de/) and is part of their great "discworld" collection.
Aziraphale, probably: Ugh. All men suck.
Crowley, taking note of this: Mmm
Crowley, next time he sees Angel, wearing distinctly feminine attire: What do you think about me wearing mascara?
Continuing the theme of spring canvases. Here is the phrase Terry Pratchet: "The mirror can really take away a part of your soul. The mirror can store the reflection of an entire universe, the whole starry sky is contained in a piece of small silvered glass.". #calligraphy #handwriting #calligraphyart #thedailytype #typespire #typism #typeyeah #typeeverything #keepwriting #krink #mtn #terrypratchet #каллиграфия #calligraffiti
Well and now for something completely different. :-)
Yes my friends this is great A’Tuin the old and venerable turtle that carries a disc shaped world we all love so much.
My best friend got a 3d printer and immediately started to print all the stuff he always wanted. As he can’t paint and I love to, he gave me two of those discworlds. One was, and still is, for him, the other one was supposed to be a commission for a friend of his. Well after I finished them both, this friend decided that he did not want to pay for his commission and thus I have one spare now.
Anyway I am still thinking about what to do with the second one. Most likely I will give it to my mother as a christmas present.
Also this was my first real field-test for water gel. Seems to have worked well so far. Just takes a lot of time to dry.
Update: @kfoxthegreat: absolutely you may share this on the discworld subreddit. :-)
And now for my last discworld project at the moment. Yes you guessed it, it’s the Luggage!
This is most likely one of the coolest characters Terry Pratchett ever created. This “half suitcase, half homocidal maniac” made out of sapient pearwood takes part in the many adventures of Rincewind the “Wizzard”.
Anyway my friend wanted his 3d printed version painted and I not only did that but also made it look a bit better.
I hope you like it because I think that now it is finished it looks pretty good. :-)
And now for something I did over Chirstmas.
As you already know from my Great A’Tuin, a friend of mine got hold of an 3d printer. Well as he is a discworld fan, he immediatly printed some minis for me to paint.
This mini here was printed rather badly and had next to no arms. So I had to sculpt his arms. Well after that I realized that the guy needed better fur and so I had to sculpt that too. But something was still bothering me about the mini. And after I had painted a good deal of the Librarian I finally realized that the mini had no mouth! Well, so I had to sculpt that one too. Then finally I could finish my Librarian.
I even created a little dialog, for the book, between a Orang Utan called “Og” and a Orang Utan called “Ek”.
Ek: “Ek Ek.” Og: “Og.” Ek: “Ek?” Og: “Og Og.” Ek: “Ek Ek?” Og: “Og!” Ek: “Eek!” Og: “OOG!” (and so the deep philosophical dialog continues - it is most likely a teatrise on the subject of an age old struggle of “when is an ape an ape”)
But, after all this work, he finally looks the way the Librarian should look. :-)
And now for the Christmas present for my mother: Granny Weatherwax. :-) My mother really likes her no-nonsense character, so I decided that I would gift her a mini weatherwax for her collection (by now she has a collection of discworld minis painted by me^^).
Anyway this cool mini was made by “Micro Art Studios” (https://shop.microartstudio.com/de/158-scheibenwelt) and is part of their discworld line (they have an insane amount of discworld characters there).
Also I know that she is not very colorful but hey it´s Granny Weatherwax, she thinks of colors as something quite undignified. And if there is something that is basic to her character it is a brutally strong and deep rooted sense of morality and dignity.
And now for something about Granny Weatherwax:
“Granny’s implicit belief that everything should get out of her way extended to other witches, very tall trees and, on occasion, mountains.”
“Esme Weatherwax hadn't done nice. She'd done what was needed.”
“I did start out in witchcraft to get boys, to tell you the truth.' 'Think I don't know that?' 'What did you start out to get, Esme?' Granny stopped, and looked up at the frosty sky and then down at the ground. 'Dunno,' she said at last.'Even, I suppose.”
:-)
